Yes. That is it. Provided the COE (PQP) is low like these months. Renewing COE plus the scrap at sub-20k for a car would be worth it.

correct! but this is somewhat hobson's choice to the car owner.

on the last day of the 10th year, he still gets non-cash parf.

on the first day of the 11th year, should the car die down, he gets nothing.

and not forgetting the COE he paid for, even though he can get it back in non-cash rebate almost in full, it would have suffered another dsy 5% discount that dealer needs for their margin.

so on the first day of the 11th year, shld the car unfortunately break down beyond salvage, he loses 5% of $15k and the parf, which can easily come up to 10k.

yes, not a bad option as compared to giving the car away as junk metal [nod]

i wonder if anyone de-register and re-register their near scrap cars this few months, wise move [gossip]

Tipical example of how off-topic a thread could be. And I was wondering how come there is so many replies.

Anyway, FYI, Kelisa is shipped with it turbo kit for European market. It is orginally ready to be turbo kitted with a L7 system (don't know what it is, but people in Malaysia are talking about it.) Too bad the turbo version isn't available legally to Singaporean or Malayisan alike. Basically because the market just isn't there.

Hmm Kelisa is a 3CYL engine.

So should be 12V right?

This engine is used in Daihatsu Siron

too.

WBucket, Kelisa 1.0 is 16V right? .... 16V, DOHC, 3 Cylinder

I got facts from the brochure, unless got typo error.

Neutral Newbie

I read the Car Buyer paper. They mention Kelisa Manual is 16.2 sec and Auto is 20.1 sec from 0 - 100KM/H. Is Kelisa Auto really very slow? And Picanto Manual 15.4 sec and Auto 16.9 sec, the different only 1.5 Sec but Kelisa Manual and Auto different is about 3.9 Sec. That is so terrible for Auto Kelisa. Can anyone tell me the figure above is true or not? [smallcry] Can anyone tell me what is the actual figure for Kelisa Auto? I heard some people added air compressor and the car become super fast even for Kelisa Auto, is it true or not? If so got any bad impact or not? what is the impact if also change the air filter? Someone also mention if install compressor or change air filter will shorten the engine life span. Is it true?

No offence to all Kelisa owners, and WBucket, but you cannot expect much out of a 1000cc auto car. Even if you add after mkt mod parts, performance improvement is also limited.

With so much $$$ spent on mod to improve acceleration, you might as well invest in a slightly bigger cc car with more power.

Eg, Accent 1.5A costs only S$4,100 more than Kelisa 1.0A. Accent OMV also much higher, so diff in price is marginal.

To vit4wd: Nothing wrong with stating the truth.

I do also emphasive on the point that this car is a small CC fun car. Anyone expecting it to fly with legal mods are going to be dis-appointed. Best to test-drive it, if the stock doesn't interest you, try other cars. If the stock feels interesting, [;)] that is where the fun starts. Cause a stock cheap car can really get you learning a lot of things about cars. How strut bars affects handling, what is body-roll, why do we have gears [:p] ? Kind of like those car racing games when you are given a lousy car at first, modding and feeling every improvement you put in. Improving your skill to keep the car at its best running conditions.

Note: This car is very DIY-able. So unless you want to spend time with it, else there are other better makes with better packages.

If want to TC I use YRV-T 1.3L DOHC engine. Basically it is a turbocharged Yaris engine.
Anyone interested? I have this engine in Johor Jaya... used to lambong it in my Toyota Echo..
