i kept these in my storeroom during that time. RP 10W40. 2 X 1-qt bottles unopened and 1 bottle left about 2/3. Advisable to use? Can i mix with recently purchased 1 X RP 5W30?

my car is 6 mths old, 7,000km. kinda wasteful to throw away the oil but if use [sweatdrop] ....

Heard before that engine oil has a lifespan of 5 years if it is un-opened but dunno how accurate it is [:p] I think for the other 2/3 bottle, you better not use it [sweatdrop]

I think should be OK to use the unopen bottle. Mixing should be OK too. But I'll dump the 2/3 bottle since it was last used (opened) 3 years ago.sweatdrop.gif

mmm... ok, if i don use the 2/3 bottle, i'm short of 1 litre... and if i dump in balance using cxxxxxe of which i got 5 litres, then 3 X RP 10W40 + 1 X 5W30 + cxxxxxe = rojak already [dizzy] .....

i was planning to change oil once before driving to Malacca in end-Oct, then change again on return. Just to use up the old stock, coz otherwise my car usage normally quite low.... the RP might be stored another 6 months to a year....mmmm...

If you're concern about mixing engine oil (I think should be safe), then get somemore RP lah. Currently there's a promotion here: http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/MyCarForum...urple_P1069177/ so can buy and keep for your next few oil change. Should be able to keep for 3 ~ 5 years if the seal are not broken.

IMHO, if you change the oil again after your trip to Malacca, its a bit wasteful. Can keep in the engine until the next oil change whether by mileage or duration.wink.gif
