Rock Neutral Newbie January 23, 2003 Share January 23, 2003 HI folks I am posting this on behalf of a friend. She has a 3 yr old VW Passat that requires a new set of headlights, the entire unit. Is there anywhere to get a new set at competitive pricing from VW accessory importers...other than getting it from Car & Cars?? Thanks and regards, Rock ↡ Advertisement

Zen Neutral Newbie January 23, 2003 Share January 23, 2003 rock, get it from Xinzhong, you get better deal. But make sure you specify the right part, since there's normal and xenon version. Suggest you take the latter anyway! as for the p/n , you can ask the folks in www.vagsg.com
Skoda_Man Neutral Newbie January 25, 2003 Share January 25, 2003 Bro, need you help. Do you have any idea how to remove the Auto Gear shift stick 'knob'? I tried the push down 'centre shaft plastic cover' all the way and the button retracts all the way already, but somehow the stupid 'knob' will not burge. Any idea how to do it? Zen Neutral Newbie January 25, 2003 Share January 25, 2003 wah, never try removing the auto gear shift knob leh. you probably need a bentley manual to see how the parts are being fitted together if you wish to DIY. again, some of the guys in vagsg.com has the manual. you got a new shift knob? Skoda_Man Neutral Newbie January 25, 2003 Share January 25, 2003 No lah, got a cheap alumin 'Chrome' cover for my gear indicator. I am so close to get it done but just the shift knob is getting in the way... GGGrrrrr!!!!!
Hondafit Neutral Newbie January 27, 2003 Share January 27, 2003 Hi Daryl, Very simple to do. Press the button fully and pull upwards. You gotta use some strength though. The knob will be out in no time. At least for the Skoda Octy you just remove the cover/wood panelling for some and you can access the shift gate, fitted one on a Tody before and its a bloody pain, got to remove armrest and centre console... Cheers!
Virus 2nd Gear January 27, 2003 Share January 27, 2003 Hi Skoda_Man, I like to have that "Chrome" gear cover in my Skoda Oct too. Where you got it? Any cost indication? Actually thinking of changing the whole centre console to alumin, to bright up the interior.

Skoda_Man Neutral Newbie January 27, 2003 Share January 27, 2003 Got it at S$20 but not sure it is the 'original' stuff from VW. I got it from the VW stocklist at Lavender, cannot remember name now. I am now brain dead.
