Freezy 1st Gear October 11, 2005 Author Share October 11, 2005 (edited) the sub-con manager is very apologetic and willing to compensate me on my time loss and change the faceplate... throughout the incident, he never deny responsibility... bros, you're right! Its komoco, they just push everything to their sub-con and sitting to watch the show... i commend the sub-con for being honest and take customers seriously.. i told him to let me know what else he can do for the compensation (i'm still a bit relunctant to replace the faceplate for fear of dust problem at the display in the future) i'll bang table at komoco tomorrow...i brought my car to komoco for servicing.... if komoco is to sub-con the work to third party.. that is not my business... and should not become a problem to me... komoco should be held responsible... just to add on... the service staff who attended to me told me to wait for the technician to come down... i gong gong wait there for half an hour, only to find out from his other collegue that the service staff went to kopi (he left me there waiting though he suppose to attend to the matter)... its his collegues who help to 'hurry' the technician to come down..... all in all, i waited for an hour though appointment had been fixed a week ago... the fixing of the panel took 10minutes, with the use of improper tools to align the HU and the panel... and damage to the HU in the process... Julian Clutched October 11, 2005 Share October 11, 2005 It's Komoco's responsibility.... they should work with the sub-con to solve how to compensate you rather than to push everything to sub-con
Freezy 1st Gear October 11, 2005 Author Share October 11, 2005 pushing responsibilities get them to nowhere... komoco mess with the wrong person let all people in this forum see how they handle and reply to me regarding this issue... and you all be the judge
Civic03 Clutched October 12, 2005 Share October 12, 2005 I am sorry to hear what happened. It would break my heart too! I think the restitution in this case would be to restore the unit to its original condition. To replace the entire unit would be a long shot, cos the unit is still in working order. In place of restoration you could consider accepting payment for the loss of the value due to the damage.

Traillar Neutral Newbie October 12, 2005 Share October 12, 2005 "but the damage is some dents and scratches at the left hand side (the surrounding frame)" Bro care to tk a pic and show us to wat extend was the HU damage? I think we need to c it b4 we can give realistic comments abt your actions.
Boonaldo Neutral Newbie October 12, 2005 Share October 12, 2005 I think you should write to a forum, whether straits times or newpaper....you can say how good you felt abt the sub-contractor, that they are willing to accept their responsibiltiy etc etc............ you should also wack komoco hard hard!!! tell everyone abt their bad attitude...now cars so cheap...a lot of dealers will be slack in customer service...which should not be the case....we are paying after all.....should wack Komoco.....(recently got ppl complaint abt his Civic 1.7 also mah....) Freezy 1st Gear October 12, 2005 Author Share October 12, 2005 (edited) i pity the sub-con... he called up very apologetic and said that if i insist on a new set, he will change for me... alternatively, he said if i willing to change the faceplate, he can send his worker to where is convenient for me, take out the HU, send to Pioneer to repair, go to where is convenient for me and fix back the HU... i think if he can come up with this service, i shouldn't press him further, since everyone is just earning a living... i took the second option... that is for him to change the faceplate... i called up komoco, i told off the service manager, Mr Ismail, saying that the poor attitude of komoco in handling this case. asking him for an explanation why i should deal with sub-con on my own and not with komoco directly. i told him the 'restuarant story', saying that if i go eat in a resturant and something wrong with the fish, do i go to the fisherman to seek compensation... he kept quiet and tell me another sotry... he cited 'if his mechanic accidentally damage the engine cover while reparing car, do he need to replace the cover, or need to replace the whole engine, or even the whole car'... i can what komoco stand is... or is it just the manager poor communication skills? throughout the conversation, he did not apologise but said that he will investigate... i told him to get back to me... instead he called the sub-con... its the sub-con who called me back to find out what happen he gonna suffer big time from me... i'm forgiving to ppl who realise their mistake... but not to ppl who try to push their responsibilities! and ya, the sub-con said he very sorry for the whole incident... he will send a hamper to my place for the hassel cost.... will komoco do that? haha Edited October 12, 2005 by Freezy

Chimp Clutched October 12, 2005 Share October 12, 2005 (edited) Freezy, you have a kind heart. The sub-con really is in need of komoco's business so he is not ready to offend the manager. The response from komoco's service manager is quite common in Singapore - they don't know how to deal with customers. They assumed that you are the troublemaker and should not give in to such request so that is why he told you the story about "should they replace the whole engine if the mechanic broke the cover". He should go back to the customer communciation 101 course. I think there will be repercussion on the sub-con. If you really want to make sure he does not get all the blame, you will have to continue your complaint up the ladder. At the end, you should tell whoever comes out apologizing that you do not want anything bad happened to the sub-con otherwise, they will expect their name and the whole story to appear in the newspaper. After all that the sub-con had done, just hope he does not lose the contract with Komoco. Edited October 12, 2005 by Chimp
Silver_blade Turbocharged October 12, 2005 Share October 12, 2005 (edited) You did the right thing. I too pity the sub-con, hhe probably didn't earn very much working for car dealers. Every dealer is looking for the cheapest quotation. The manager ought to be shot. I suggest you wait for the issue to be re-solved 1st (sub-con out of the picture 1st) then shoot this manager. Vooth 2nd Gear October 12, 2005 Share October 12, 2005 Their sales too good and they are becoming like another Borneo...the only way to teach them a lesson is to hit them hard where it counts...their sales. So don't buy Hyundai, Chrysler and Harley Davidson but I doubt that's gonna work.. ↡ Advertisement
