Chimp Clutched October 6, 2005 Share October 6, 2005 (edited) I found it very useful when reverse parking. The other use is when I am making an U-turn, because of my car's turning radius, I would want to get the car close to the line in order to make the turn but at the same time, I don't want to cross the line too much. In this case, the left side small mirror will be helpful. Edited October 6, 2005 by Chimp ↡ Advertisement

Gangofg Neutral Newbie October 6, 2005 Share October 6, 2005 so sorry may be i did not explain clearly. the mechanic told me that as long as there's this little button in the car(usually near the button to tilt side mirrors)to fold yr mirrors, you need not do any futher mod, jus do some wiring job will do. Pisces69 6th Gear October 6, 2005 Share October 6, 2005 Yup. I also have those small round mirrors on BOTH sides as my daughter said she is not comfortable reverse parking without them as her driving instructors car had them. Really regret putting them on. I put them on the outer top part of the mirror as they gave the best view of the rear kerb but I don't use them & find they increase my blind spot. Chimp Clutched October 6, 2005 Share October 6, 2005 oic so the motors have to be there but just wiring to make it automatically fold when you press the remote control instead of manually press the FOLD button. In that case, a lot of the car will not be able to install this.
Gangofg Neutral Newbie October 6, 2005 Share October 6, 2005 actually they put in a "module" plus wiring to make it work. you are right some cars may not be ablt to install without futher mod..especially smaller cc ones

Ya, I was concerned that it might obstruct the view if I place it at the outer top/bottom part. Then again, I hope the blind-spot mirror view won't be compromised if I placed it at the bottom inner of the side mirror. Intend to stick one on each side, but I think the left side will be the more useful one, as I can rely on the right side mirror to check the kerb. Dweller Clutched October 6, 2005 Share October 6, 2005 (edited) B4 u do it...must adjust the mirror to your normal usage. If yours is not those that can be adjusted...i suggest u ask someone to hold it in place to see if u can see the kerb or the bottom. Its the cheapest & useful with no future break down. I used to drive a car which has this function. I have to spend $350 to get it replace. Why so expensive u may ask?? Cos i have to buy the whole side mirror with the motor which is in white colour. I got the motor out and exchange with the old motor which is Jam due to my itchy hand of closing it everytime i park my car. But i did save some money for not spraying the colour. I dont know if this so call product we are all taking about will not break down. Anyway i am now smarter to leave it alone. Japanese car mirror will break down after certain time of use. As for where to fix I suggest u place it at the top right hand side or bottom. But all depend on your preference. Last if spoil just buy new 1..its so cheap. Pisces69 6th Gear October 6, 2005 Share October 6, 2005 I find the image in the convex mirror too small, especially at night to see anything. I might consider taking them out as soon as possible. When I park I find it easier to move my head to see the white lines of the parking lot in the side mirrors. The small mirrors r actually supposed to cover the blind spot when overtaking & such.
