Should I take the money instead?

I will be getting the Cefiro next week. It comes with the Kenwood 2din 4070 and 10 disk cd/vcd changer. I didn't quite like the look of the HU which I think just doesn't match the Cefiro interior. From what I have read in the forums around here, Kenwood SQ isn't much to talk about. The SE is wiling to offer me $500 if I don't take the Kenwood. Someone mention that the $500 is much too low. On the other hand, I may not like the Kenwood enough to keep it and I may get even less money later on if I trade in.

 

Any suggestions on my next course of action? If I take the $500, how much more do I need to top up to get a decent set. I am more pro SQ. The factory speakers may have to go too eventually....And my boss said go for the DVD changer instead...

if i not wrong, pioneer 8650, $550 can find liao.. or if u want good good one, top up another $400 get the clarion 956.. these sets are 'more than decent' liao.. heheh..or look around for the alphine sets.. (not to familiar).. if u lucky, 2nd hand 7998 can get for ard $800 like that.. (i've seen it online b4.. but no $$ to buy).

Take the money.

Its quite difficult to get more than that amount if you sell it yourself. Save yourself the hassle too.

If Kenwood HU is unbearable, then even $400 also take ( cos unbearable mah ).

 

But a new Kenwood HU + CD changer are definitely above $500.

 

So, it all depends on how much trouble you are willing to take.

If you really don't like it, it think 500 is as much as you can get anyway. But to get a new HU + cd/vcd changer will cost $$$

 

as for dvd, unless you intent to add another screen at the back or "mod" the connection, else not worth cos how often do you stay in you car when it is stationary to watch dvd ??

In the interest of cash preservation for the time being, I think I will stick with the Kenwood and enjoy whatever I can squeeze out of it. Later when resources permit, I will try and replace the weakest link, I'd say probably the speakers. At least that was what the guys at Auotobac reckonned.

 

The car is Sapphire Black. I haven't had a dark coloured car for many years already. Not sure am prepared to slave over it! Last 3 rides were champagne, silver, silver. However, I was told Black is my color and will bring me good luck and untold fortunes! I need whatever help I can get....
