Hi K,

Hope you're not havin problems with your K104?

Just to share, K104 is Y-rated (Max300kph) tyre, with U.T.Q.G.(Uniform Tire Quality Gradings System) of thread wear 280, traction AA, temperature A.

I'm still havin mine for routine use and have yet to push these tyres to the limits yet, but the tyres are getting nosier by the day. Another buddy didn't seem to be impressed at all by its wet performance/aquaplan.

Any comments at your end?

yeah lah, always the case. we all learn from our mistakes at one time or other.

i guarantee u most of the brothers here who have been driving for sometimes would have kena small or big one and learn from their mistake.

Hi there,

Do you know of any value for money performance tyres? Reasonable price with good performance regardless of brand?

Regards,

used Kumho Ecsta 712, skidded and rear ended someone in the wet.

using Hankook Ventus K104, aquaplaned twice, once at Farrer Road U-turn at around 50kmph when raining. car went straight, even when steering turned right. Really noisy after 20K km

best tires used are Nokian NRZi, great in the wet and dry. surprisingly quiet for an agressive thread design. I believe can last 40 to 50K km. I used it to 40K km and it still had 40% thread left (the Nokians have a visible thread indicator that tells you how many mm left)

because safety and the lives of the passengers are important to me, i won't go cheap on tires and therefore won't recommend the 2 koreans for our rainy weather. Nokian highly recommended.

will be going for Turanzas GR-80, Precedas or BF Goodrich G force sports next...

1. Aquaplaned twice with K104? I'm on 215/40/17. I skid once at 80km/h over a bend during a rainy day. After realignment and rebalancing, I've yet to skid again.

2. One thing about K104 could be noise. I'm looking around for an alternative though not in a hurry as I've used slightly over 10k. Well, it could be another set of Hankook.

Regards,
