BT, 24 Jan:

Borneo was among the first to post new prices to reflect yesterday's sizeable drop in certificate of entitlement rates.

An entry-level Toyota Vios is going for just over $64,000, while a Picnic people mover is priced below $100,000.

Vios price getting cheaper!!!!!

Come on, How often do you do 4000+ rpm esp in 3rd

and 4th gears. At 2,700 rpm, the torque for the

City and Vios is similar.

Well, we don't normally go at 4000+ rpm, but if you need to, the higher torque will be quite useful! [laugh][laugh] At 3rd gear, it can mean a more confident overtaking maneuver. [thumbsup]

Went to test drive the Vios this morning...the showroom was very crowded for a weekday morning. My SE finally managed to secure a test car after almost 20mins, it was a S-grade. Handling of the car is good, cornering also quite stable, but I just can't get used to the digital display, looks atificial and gives me a slight headache after staring at it for too long. [:(]

Floored the accelerator all the way and was able to hit 120kph quite effortlessly in 3rd gear...but dunno whether the digital speedo accurate or not 'cos the car sure felt slower than 120...more like 90~100. Engine noise was quite pronouced at high rpms as compared to my City....brought it to 5000+ rpm. The gear change was smoother than my City, but kick downs are abit slow...not so responsive to flooring of acc.

The cabin feels very crampy....seriously I dunno why cos it has almost identical cabin dimension as my City....1695 width, 2500 wheelbase. Feels a little "suffocated" in the cabin, especially when in the rear seats...backreat was too upright. My City can seat 5 adults comfortably, can't say the same for Vios. [:(]

I had high hopes on the Vios before the test drive, but now I've decided to stick to my current car...at least for a little while longer.
