Rumor: S80 Facelift coming

Explanation:

The production of the facelifted S80 will start in week 10 of 2003.

 

 

These are changes that are verified:

Changed rear lights. Slightly smaller with a thin chrome egde on the bottom of the light. The white part of the light (blinker and rear light) will now be a square box mid height of the lamp (not in the middle but towards middle of the car, i.e. left light has white box on the right side mid height).

Inside: Thin chrome ring around gauges (like XC90). Thin needles and small lines between current speed markings (S70 style which gives the impression of better precision and thinner needle gives the impression of quicker acceleration).

 

Rumours:

Engine: 5 cyls, compact I6 cyls and a V8 (Yamaha built found on Taurus SHO)

Seems like they tried moving the side blinkers to the rear mirror, like Mercedes has.

 

The car will be presented in November of this year, but as there are no big car shows, we guess Volvo will release pictures like they did with the XC90 and show the facelifted S80 for the first time in Detroit.

Can't really spot the difference except that the moldings are now sprayed instead of them being in black plastic. I like them in the same body colour which is why I had mine sprayed but it is not that great as spraying on plastic moldings don't look like the original which is on the S80 Executive where the moldings are of the same colour of the body.

 

The new rims sure is damn tok kong.

Really? I love the S Type but I didn't think it look like the S type which has a more slant backside ( The new sonata knocked that design off almost perfectly )

 

Maybe it's the rims on the new S80, which looks almost like the Jag's rims.

 

By the way, the new Jag S Type Turbo R ( hope I got that model right ) is a KILLA

Told U it's not a T5, the 180bhp 2.0T also available in SG is a LPT only.

 

The T5 should be a 2.3 HPT with 240bhp or special issue like mine with 2.0 HPT with 225bhp.

It is 5 cylinder called I-5 LPT, the T5 means I-5 HPT engine.
