Kooler Neutral Newbie September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 I'm using 15' 195 55 tires for my Lancer and would like to change to profile 50 for my next tire change,I noe that it's not the correct profile and speed and millege readings would be affected. But I would like to know when I switch from profile 55 to profile 50.Would the speed readings be over stated as in indicating I'm travelling at 100km/hr when I'm actually doing 110km/hr? Oso will the millege counter under or over report the actual distance travelled? Last is would the discrepancy be a lot from original readings? ↡ Advertisement

Fortress Clutched September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 (edited) hi, if you changed from 55 to 50 without changing to 16", you are actually travelling faster on the speedometer but in reality you are slower. Therefore, you have a higher mileage in terms of the distance but actually travelling much less about 10% less...interesting isn't it... Seaweed 1st Gear September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 (edited) if downsize ....for same rpm...you actually travel less distance...because for every 1 turn...due to the reduce in diameter of tyre...you cover less distance....upsize...diameter of tyre increase....so for every turn....you cover more distance....ha ha ha.....so where have you been to never see you in forum for the past one two days ?? Fortress Clutched September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 Why, you miss me...., been travelling and will be away next week too. It is a simple calculation on Perimeter of the tyre. 2 X pie X Rad, if Radius is reduced then Perimeter is less. Interesting isn't it....
