    • Yes! It's time the drivers do what they're paid to do.

    • No. It's a big step backward technologically..

    • Damn! I can't say F1 drivers use auto gearboxes anymore!

    • Yeah! It's getting boring watching the red cars leading all the time

The FIA has announced the following changes for the 2003 season:

- Placing cars in parc ferme between final qualifying and the race (teams will be unable to work on them, except under strict supervision)

- Elimination of traction control, launch control and fully automatic gearboxes (possible derogation for all or part of 2003, to be followed by absolute enforcement in 2004, if necessary by standard ECUs)

- Elimination of pit to car and car to pit telemetry

- Elimination of all radio comminucation between car and driver

- Allowing only two cars per team (ie: no spare cars)

Besides making the sport more "affordable", do you think it would make races more exciting for us spectators?

Yeah hopefully BMW-Williams and McLaren get better reliability this year. They seemed to do worse in 2002 than in 2001, probably pushed too hard trying to catch up with Ferrari. It'll still be a tough fight for them... even with the new rules

Toyota will be in the 2nd year of its comeback, let's see what they can do this year!

I prefer the original & radical idea mooted abt rotating the drivers between teams. Would love to see Shuey drive a Minardi. [thumbsup]

Hope if doesn't become another yawn fest like last year. [sleeping][sleeping]

unfortunately they are not going to add weights to cars which do well in qualifying. In JGTC, the competition is always close because if cars come in fast in Heat1, they will carry heavier weights in Heat2 to prevent the fast ones being too fast for the rest and reduce chances of close-fight (and thus enterntainment value from the spectatotors' point of view) during the race .... [:/]

Without a live TV broadcast (which home TV viewers enjoy) in front of you while you watch the race there in person, how do you keep track of the positions and also 'interesting' track actions on the other side of the track where you can't see???

Hehe...i also bring along a mini Casio TV to catch TV3's live broadcast to catch any action away from my view & instant replays n stuff. For race positions, there's a info tower which lists the driver positions & also some live commentary (tho u can't really hear anything coz the track is too darn loud).

It's really more comprehensive watching on TV but the atmosphere there is something else. Kinda like watching FA cup at home vs experiencing the action live at Wembley. [;)]

Ya, it's a mini Sepang circuit. But on the F1 weekend, the kart track is closed to public as it's used for the corporate smoochers. Went twice on a normal weekend but twice also closed!!! [furious]

Heard there are some good ones by Mofaz but haven't tried.

I've been there twice too in the last two years too [thumbsup]

Nothing beats the scream of the V10s! [bounce1][bounce1]

And you also hear the engines backfiring when the cars slow down for the corners, something you can't hear on TV. Well nowadays not much coverage for ppl who don't have cable TV, I fell asleep watching most of the races on TV anyway. [sleeping][sleeping]

I've been to the one at Lanjan, which is a smaller circuit compared with the Fast Track Speedzone ELITE which is situated near USJ. If we go up during the grand prix, we can easily pop by for some of our own action either before or after the qualifying. No point hanging around at Sepang and get baked.
