MB Quartz Reference

Anybody using the above mention component speakers, any good?

Understand that this set of speaker gives quite good clarity but

will it sound too flat for R&B music cos i will not be running with a sub

Got a code for $590 Please advice...

I used them for my front and rear in my last setup. Simply put, sharp sound and good clarity. Mid-bass a little lacking but I never took note of them as I have my subs. If you go for clarity, you can try MB quartz. Sice you're not going to install subs, I suggest you sound proof your front doors to provide a better and more compact mid-bass response.

Different people have different level of demand. For me a Discus series MB Quart Component Speaker can satisfy me. Clear enuf and sharp enuf after my tuning to my preference with cadence pre-amp. I prefer sharp sharp type. The tweeter doesnt saturates...so steady.

 

So a Reference Series will be a luxury for me. If your requirement is almost same as mine, it sure can satisfy you.
