What does it mean by " Campro"?

Is it the same as V-tec or some other thing?

Anyone to advise?

extract this from any website....true anot? Really that good ah?

------------------------------------------------------

I got an info from another sites that this Campro engine is more powerful that the latest BMW valvetronic.Valvetronic delivered 85Kw for 1.8liter engine, Campro pump 82Kw JUST 1.6liter engine....what a brilliant engine!! Furthermore ,this engine will be fitted with Cam Phasing System that is more like V-TEC engine that will ensure extra kicking at high rev. For sure this will attract youngsters that are hungry for extra power!!

Proton is working on a Campro engine with variable-valve timing that gives it a meatier feel and improves performance.

It will be offered in a premium Gen2 model next year, but should really be in the base car.

And in April Proton will introduce an R3 performance model with exhaust modifications that will lift power slightly.

With excellent handling, it's clear the Gen2 can handle more go.

console yourself, the Gen2 is still not euro4 spec one yet, like the Waja, heavy and fuel consumption maybe higher. [nod] Gen2 is lighter and so power-to-weight ratio is higher, and FC is lower I hope. [nod] I am not an expert on Proton cars, can aska Gadgeter? [wave]

From what I read, Campro stands for Cam Profiling. The current Gen2 although called Campro engine but does not have any cam profiling (phasing) technique yet. They just give the name in anticipation for the implementation? [hur]

They are still preparing a TRUE Campro engine or is it already in any production Proton?

Like what someone said, they still have not fully exploit the potential of this Campro engine series...

then am i right to say proton is misleading the consumers when they put the wordings "CAMPRO" at the back of the car as well as on the spec sheet of the car ?
