Sarong1 1st Gear July 28, 2005 Share July 28, 2005 [/url]Q: What is HDCD? A: High Definition Compatible Digital, or HDCD, is a patented process for delivering on CD the full richness and detail of the original microphone feed. When listening to HDCD recordings, you hear more dynamic range, a focused 3-D soundstage, and extremely natural vocal and musical timbre. You get the body, depth, and emotion of the original performance ↡ Advertisement

Sarong1 1st Gear August 3, 2005 Author Share August 3, 2005 Hi, I have yet to come to a conclusive answer for that. For now, I try on every type of CD (be it HDCD, hybrid, XRCD) and listen with my ear. Every company out there can claim that their CD is done is HDCD or whichever format/cutting process...at the end of the day, if the song is indeed recorded in that format, the details, clarity, sound stage, imaging will come out, hee hee provided the sound system [1] can support the format [2] of decent setup [3] can accurately reproduce what was recorded... Until I have complete my analysis, I will post in this forum again. Cheers ↡ Advertisement
