On the first day of the new year, I was pleasantly surprised that the 1.6 GDTI engine from Volvo has finally made its debut in Singapore in the form of the estate version of the S60, the V60. I decided to do some technical research on this

Both the engine and transmission is from Ford,

ie. Ford's Ecoboost engine and Powershift gearbox.

Eyke - I kind of suspected it. I actually asked a SE at SM Motors if the 2.0T engine in the new S60 is shared with the upcoming Mondeo facelift and she mentioned that it is not since Volvo is under different management now..hmm...
