One of my favourite cars is going to get a new face, the Volvo C30 to be precise. The Swedish company has decided to steer clear from emulating their German rivals and its main man, Stefan Jacoby say that this new model will be quintessentially Swedish in terms of its design.. And I'm looking forward to that! It'll be like Ikea with wheels I suppose.

The most distinct difference between its old model and the new one will be that it comes with 5 doors instead of 3. This move is meant to make the C30 more practical and more desirable for family men. Their most important goal though is to compete with the other manufacturers like Ford, Volkswagen and Vauxhall (Opel to us in Singapore) who have well established their place in the world of hot-hatches. Since Jacoby intends to keep things Swedishly simple in the new C30, he says that things will be elegant and minimalistic on both the exterior and the interior, but with 'more interesting choice of materials'. I wonder what that really means.. Also, technology in the car is said to be inspired by Apple so I would expect more minimalism fused with style on the tech front. Everything that was 'bad' about the C30 is now under a revamp. While the old car's rear seats were cramped and with a rubbish boot, the new car will come with more rear passenger space and larger luggage capacity.

Not much news has been released about the engines though, but the current one is already rather perky and fun to drive around. By the looks of it, I feel like I already want one. The model is set to be released in 2012.

Nice solid looking hatch. If it makes it to production, I guess we will most probably find the 1.6L GDTI engine under its hood.

  • Hard Enduro: The ultimate motorsport?

I enjoy motorsports of all kinds - four wheels good, two wheels better. And while watching them on TV (okay let's be honest Youtube, who even watches TV nowadays) is fun, getting to partake in anything even remotely resembling it, even in a highly truncated, totally superficial manner, is even more exciting.  Earlier this year, I did a short 2.5 day off-road riding 'tour', and it was easily the hardest, most physically demanding 2.5 days I've ever spent on a motorbike. It really gives you a

    DENZA D9: True Flagship Excellence

What makes something a flagship? Flagship products represent the very best of a brand. Whether it's cars, electronic products, even services, a 'flagship' is core to a brand experience, as well as to the brand's image. Besides just delivering all the tangible features and functionality offered by the brand, a flagship product is also a showcase of the intangible - about what a brand stands for, and what it aims to deliver to customers. DENZA, a BYD Premium Brand, has now been officiall

    Relaxing to restoration videos

There are tons of YouTube videos one could watch to unwind and decompress at the end of the day, perhaps while having dinner. You could watch one of those nature documentaries, travel vlogs featuring beautiful beaches, or perhaps a cooking show. But there's something strangely therapeutic about watching restoration videos. And the channel I find myself drawn to is Fumicho Restoration, a channel full of videos of old motorcycles being repaired and essentially reborn. I'm not even familiar wi

    A sole-ful tribute

Car enthusiasts are an emotional bunch. So, I naturally develop feelings for things on wheels, be it four wheels or two. However, I was surprised to discover that I had become attached to my old pair of sneakers, whose soles are so worn that it hurts to wear them.  That is the unequivocal signal to retire them. But I must say "Thank you" before bidding them goodbye. The laceless design is convenient, saving time when you need to rush off in the morning Through thick and
