Private bus becomes a Koenigsegg after dropping its gearbox while driving

This is a Koenigsegg Regera. I would do unspeakable things to own one of these.

One of the things that make the Regera astonishing, beyond its price, 1500 horsepower twin-turbo V8 with 3 electric motors or the simple fact it’s a Koenigsegg, is the fact it has no gearbox. Koenigsegg have opted to throw out conventional power delivery systems and make a new one instead, calling it Koenigsegg Direct Drive (DDT). I am not smart enough to understand or explain how it works but it saves weight and prevents energy wastage during acceleration using the electric motors.

This bus thought it was capable of being one of these dream machines, but crippled itself instead.

What happened?

A camcar on Redhill Close, 12 April, saw a peculiar sight where a private bus was on the road, and left its gearbox behind with it.

The bus was of course stranded with no way to move, and forced traffic to weave around it.

It is unknown what caused this failure, as well as if anyone is hurt or how long it took to get the bus off the road. There doesn't seem to be an accident as the bus's exterior looks untouched but there's plenty of metal bits covering the road as well.

Online chatter

The jokes were of course on the gearbox, but it varied on whether it was meant to be a birth or a dump.

Others were also concerned about the condition of such vehicles and what were vehicle inspections for if buses like these were still allowed on the road.

  • Godzilla Minus One: Surprisingly emotional and poignant

When one thinks of Godzilla movies, one imagines an oversized amphibious dinosaur generating a terrifying heat ray from its mouth and fighting with other oversized monsters. Meh, nothing special, right? Wrong. Here’s why Godzilla Minus One should be an action movie you should definitely catch. In this version, the timeless clash between monster and man is once again set against the tumultuous backdrop of post-war Japan. But, unlike typical action films that dive headfirst into destruction a

    Musings about the Pomodoro Method

In a hyper-connected mega-city, where time seems to tick at a relentlessly brisk pace and where distractions are aplenty, pondering the art of productivity and focus is inevitable. In fact, it’s almost become a necessity. No wonder so many listicles have been written to point us in the right directions. Different methods works for different folks, of course, and when I was in my final year of university, I was introduced to a method that I regularly return to still: The Pomodoro Method, a d

Riding a motorcycle is like taking your nose on a wild adventure. You're cruising down the road, expecting to smell nothing except exhaust fumes and perhaps rubbish, when suddenly - bam! - you're hit with the mouthwatering aroma of sizzling char kway teow from a nearby coffeeshop. Heck, you might even catch a whiff of someone's fancy perfume as you zip by. It's like your bike has magical powers, transforming an ordinary ride into a sensory rollercoaster. It's these unexpected olfactory deli

From social media to video calls to messaging apps, our capacity for real-time communication is unprecedented. However, it seems that the more hyperconnected we are online, the further apart we're growing in real life.
