Cyclists pay no heed to traffic and blocks entire lane at West Coast Highway

TL;DR - Cyclists blocked the entire lane at West Coast highway and failed to conform to red light.

Agree to disagree: Cyclists are the true king of the road.

Watch this 57-second video to see what I mean.

What happened?

The peloton were seen taking up the lane at West Coast highway and failed to conform to traffic regulations by beating the red light.

This seems to be a norm amongst cyclists in Singapore - to gather in large groups and cycle on the roads.

Which shouldn’t be the case!

Stricter fines have been imposed to counter such road pests. Not sure if its sufficient enough to prevent all these self-entitled two-wheelers though.

Takeaway

Our paths and roads are shared spaces. We should consider the safety of our fellow travelers, no matter whether we drive, walk, cycle or ride active mobility devices.

  • A 20-year journey, an old passion rekindled

For us 90s babies, the Holy Trinity of Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network formed a big part of our childhood. The internet was just about coming into fruition, with the rise of a plethora of websites with numerous entertaining flash games and of course, the early days of YouTube. And though those things have come and gone, one thing in my life remained constant: My love for Pokemon. I first got into Pokemon 20 years ago, and I remember exactly how it went down. Let me set the

Rock and Roll: The Sonic Balm for Your Weary Soul

Alright, I've stumbled upon the ultimate cure for your existential woes - Rock and roll. That's right, this sonic elixir is the balm your weary spirit's been craving. Forget yoga or meditation; all you need is a killer guitar riff and a thumping bassline to transport you to nirvana. It's time to turn that frown upside down and crank up the volume! The Term "Rock and Roll" Ever wondered where the saucy phrase "Rock and roll" came from? Well, back in the 17th century, salty sea dogs used

Japan: The trend that became a turn-off

Ahh Japan. The destination that many travellers desire. The perennial trending subject on social media. Japanese cuisine, culture, quirks, technology, and everything kawaii have inspired endless posts, stories, reels, YouTube videos, and TikToks. If one didn't know better, you'd think it was the dream destination on this planet. While I love the food, the service and the shopping, the sheer number of tourists (me included) has become a turn-off. I'm not talking about those who inconven

    Germany is weird, too

As we've previously established and regularly highlighted, Japan is pretty weird.  And as it turns out, Germany's kinda weird, too:  m2-res_720p.mp4 The above video has been making its rounds on social media, and the simplest description of it is that it's a game where they are trying to cut an object (here, a pretzel) EXACTLY in half. It's pretty amazing that the person actually succeeds, but the fact that this is a game at all (on TV, no less) is fascinating.  Schlag d
