TL;DR - A man was caught driving under the influence (DUI) into Malaysia as his breathalyzer test exceeded the maximum alcohol limit for drink driving.

Ever since the borders between Singapore and Malaysia reopened, there have been many incidents reported of Singaporeans getting up to mischief and/or displaying erratic behaviors.

Here is just one of the many examples:

One good egg does not make a dozen but one bad apple can spoil a barrel.

What happened?

A man was caught by the Malaysian police for drink driving into Malaysia. Netizens managed to ‘suss out’ and found that this man is a Singaporean as he was driving a SG-registered car (based on his car plate and in-vehicle unit).

Under SG law, if you are convicted of drink driving, you can be fined up to $10,000 and jailed for up to a year for first-timers. Repeat offenders can be fined up to $20,000 and jailed for up to two years.

Under Malaysia law, a person convicted of driving or attempting to drive whilst their alcohol level exceeds the prescribed limit, shall be sentenced to imprisonment for a maximum of 2 years and a fine of at least RM10,000 and not more than RM30,000. Upon conviction, the driver shall be disqualified from holding a driver’s license for at least two years.

It is unclear which country would press charges against him, but either way, it's bad.

Let’s hear from the netizens

‘Orbiquek’... (Singlish ver. of serves you right)

Kudos to Malaysia's PDRM (a.k.a traffic police) for being so vigilant and arresting the man before he could cause any accident.

Takeaway

Remember to always make good decisions and plan ahead - if you know you're going to drink, don't drive!

Drink and drive is a deadly mix - keep yourself and others around you safe.

Means he got caught at MY customs?

Silly man

Next time get into MY and then start drinking.

Its cheaper in JB!

You are not going to pump your car full tank and then drive into JB right?

Same with your body! Fill that tank up only in JB too!

  • Can you really imagine a future with humanoid robots?

I recently went on a media trip with XPENG, a brand that makes some pretty nice EVs, but they were also put in the spotlight recently when the video of their robot, IRON, went viral. The humanoid robot walked on stage in such a convincing manner that prompted everyone to wonder if it was actually a human in a suit. Now, I managed to get a closer look at the robot, and although it was a static display, it looked intricate and pretty interesting. We then attended a workshop where t

Listening to music while working: Does it actually help?

It’s likely a common sight in every office you set foot in: Workers with their heads buried in their desktops/laptops, earbuds dutifully plugged in (or headphones chucked on). Having a tune to go into battle alongside you against anything that happens at work seems to be as essential as having a caffeinated drink perched on the table, it seems. Thus also arises the question, however: Does a symphony of melodies really serve as the secret ingredient to unlocking peak productivity? The debate

I never knew Monster Trucks were so popular here

Although it appeared to be selling out fast back when my friend shared the link to the Monster Jam Singapore event some months ago, I could never expect just how popular the event turned out to be until the day itself. You see, originating in the USA, Monster Trucks aren't really an international phenomenon, unlike F1 or other forms of motorsports. Even someone like me, who's very interested in cars, doesn't really know much about these massive machines. And yet, on the day of the even

    10 terrible wedding songs

A song can have a catchy title and/or chorus, but its true meaning is only found within its lyrics. If you're planning your wedding, any song about breakups, cheating/infidelity, and being the other woman has no business being part of the reception playlist. Most people, however, take the song title to be its meaning and don't consider its actual content. Here are 10 songs that sound romantic but should be avoided. 10) Irreplaceable – Beyoncé Don't mistake this for being
