A Mercedes-Benz EQA250 disregards numerous road regulations and safety in a clash of egos with cam car

Camcar footage was caught of a Mercedes Benz flouting multiple traffic regulations, first crossing over chevron lines to attempt to overtake the camcar, followed by refusing to give way at the pedestrian crossing.

Watch the video for yourself below

At the start of the video, you can clearly see the Mercedes EQA250 Driver blatantly cross the chevron markings in an attempt to overtake the cam car.

This makes the Mercedes driver liable to a penalty of a $150 fine as well as 3 demerit points.

Not only that, but the Mercedes driver was also caught refusing to give way to pedestrians at a pedestrian crossing.

For that, the Mercedes driver could have been liable to a a $150 fine as well as 6 demerit points.

It can be seen on the video footage that two pedestrians were waiting to cross at the traffic light

According to Singapore Statutes Online based on the Road Traffic Act, precedence is supposed to be given for pedestrians, cyclists, mobility vehicle users as well as PMD riders.

Any “driver of a vehicle who is in the process of turning his vehicle at a road intersection or junction where there is a pedestrian crossing shall stop his vehicle in order to give way to any pedestrian, cyclist, mobility vehicle user or PMD rider who is either crossing or is starting to cross the intersection or junction. “

TLDR; this basically means that drivers must give way to pedestrians lah!

Though the camcar posted the footage hoping to criticize the Benz driver, the camcar seemed to also have been flouting traffic regulations by crossing the double white lines as well, exposing his violations in the process.

For crossing over the double white lines, the camcar could have also been liable to 4 demerit points and a $150 fine.

The Mercedes Benz also seemed to have engaged in brake checking, which while is not a traffic offense in Singapore, is considered reckless driving and extremely inconsiderate behavior.

The Mercedes Benz driver was seen coming out of his vehicle at the end of the video, perhaps hoping to settle his score with the camcar.

Netizens seem to be unanimous in criticizing both the camcar and the Mercedes Benz, sensing that something suspicious is afloat since the footage was cut.

Personally, I believe that both of them should be held liable, let this be a lesson learnt to value safety on roads.

  • Japan: The trend that became a turn-off

Ahh Japan. The destination that many travellers desire. The perennial trending subject on social media. Japanese cuisine, culture, quirks, technology, and everything kawaii have inspired endless posts, stories, reels, YouTube videos, and TikToks. If one didn't know better, you'd think it was the dream destination on this planet. While I love the food, the service and the shopping, the sheer number of tourists (me included) has become a turn-off. I'm not talking about those who inconven

    The Joys of Morning Walks

Like most other folks stuck in the rut of smartphone-hyper-use, I recently caught myself doing the same each morning: Waking up to immediately reach for my phone. Reflecting on the first quarter of the year, however – and realising that I’ve been subconsciously plunged into an extended bout of languidness – brought me to the realisation: Perhaps it's time to embrace a different routine. One that started with stepping outside into the crisp morning air, and feeling the gentle warmth of

    The art of doing nothing?

Here’s a quick fun fact for those who’ve sworn themselves entirely off TikTok, out of the fear of having to run yet another social media account: You don’t actually need to log in to the app to scroll it. Quite incredibly (but also quite scarily), the platform’s algorithm is still able to curate an incredible array of videos that it thinks will make you want to keep scrolling. And for this existential-crisis-ridden 28-year old, it’s decided to feed videos more along the 'self-help’ route re

Why oolong tea could be the superior drink of choice at lunch

Coffee - without sugar! - has long been (and still is) my go-to option to accompany my lunch. Amidst a larger 2025 goal of reducing the number of cups of kopi-o kosong I gulp down a week, however, I’ve recently thought about how my lunch experience can be switched up slightly with yet another sugarless drink: A can, or indeed bottle of oolong tea. Oolong tea is said to offer a perfect balance of flavour and functionality - perfect not just for complementing one's meal but also reinvigo
