Blur sotong driver fails to warn other of his stationary vehicle on the PIE, gets rear-ended not once, but twice

Accidents on expressways are common.

When that happens, it is essential to turn on your hazard light and put up the reflective triangle sign to warn other motorists of the accident that is obstructing the road.

Otherwise, this may happen:

What Happened?

The accident above occurred on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE).

A white car with a damaged bonnet that was involved in an accident earlier stopped on lane 2 of the expressway.

The blur sotong driver of the white car left it without its hazard lights turned on, nor did he put up a reflective triangle sign behind his vehicle to warn other motorists of this obstruction.

Instead, he stood on the centre divider helplessly while waiting for assistance to be rendered.

Just then, an SMRT taxi, a Toyota Prius travelling in lane 2, failed to notice the stationary vehicle and rear-ended it forcefully.

The rear-end impact was so great that the white car's boot burst open.

And within seconds, a Toyota Sienta travelling behind the Prius failed to react in time and rear-ended the SMRT taxi.

The chain collision caused smoke to be emitted from the vehicles and debris to be flunked around everywhere across the expressway.

So this is why ladies and gentlemen, don't be a blur sotong.

Always remember to turn on your hazard light and use the reflective triangle sign in such situations.

Here's wishing all those involved in the chain collision a speedy recovery!

Good thing this driver is out of the roads for a while. What did he ram into in the first accident? A lorry or a bus?

I am not sure what he rammed into in the first accident. Based on online chatter, it seemed like his car was there for quite some time, even after the vehicle(s) involved in the first accident got towed away/removed.

Not much traffic at all during that time. Even if not enough time to stop, can still easily change lane even at the very last minute.

The two drivers that added to the initial accident ,....... really sleeping. I'd say the white car driver is lucky, not only is he unharmed but now can claim insurance from the other two jokers.

Rekt is a slang for “wrecked”.

In today's world with almost ubiquitous spell-checkers, available for free too, we have people who deliberately misspell words (almost wanted to type this as "mis-spell" for clarity but then got corrected) [laugh]

  • Japan is weird. I love it (Part 4)

I recently finished watching Shōgun (yes, I'm a little bit late to the party). Released earlier this year, Shōgun has become an utter revelation - going on to win 18 Emmys at this year's Primetime and Creative Arts Emmys, making it the most awarded single season of television in history. It's also the first non-English-language series to win Outstanding Drama Series.  And it truly is outstanding, fully deserving of all the awards that it has garnered.  As you would expect, the show rev

    A sole-ful tribute

Car enthusiasts are an emotional bunch. So, I naturally develop feelings for things on wheels, be it four wheels or two. However, I was surprised to discover that I had become attached to my old pair of sneakers, whose soles are so worn that it hurts to wear them.  That is the unequivocal signal to retire them. But I must say "Thank you" before bidding them goodbye. The laceless design is convenient, saving time when you need to rush off in the morning Through thick and

    DENZA D9: True Flagship Excellence

What makes something a flagship? Flagship products represent the very best of a brand. Whether it's cars, electronic products, even services, a 'flagship' is core to a brand experience, as well as to the brand's image. Besides just delivering all the tangible features and functionality offered by the brand, a flagship product is also a showcase of the intangible - about what a brand stands for, and what it aims to deliver to customers. Maps

The world map is a lie.  Well, sort of. If you think of a 2D, rectangular world map, the image that comes to mind is what's called a Mercator projection: It's... a map, no doubt, but with some very obvious distortions. The most obvious one being Antarctica, which seems like almost another planet, as well as Greenland being absolutely massive and seemingly the same size as Africa, when it is in fact 1/14 the size.  Representing a 3D sphere (Earth) on a 2D surface is fundament
