Checking for traffic is always a crucial skill to have as a driver!

In this video, the cam car travels alongside a blue Honda Fit in the middle lane of the road.

As the Fit drives past a bus stop, the vehicle starts sliding to the left lane without turning on its signal lights.

At the same time, an SBS bus was attempting to exit the bus lane and merge into the left lane without checking.

Assuming that the vehicles on the left lane would give way, the bus enters the road.

Upon noticing that the bus captain was not going to let him pass, the Fit driver started to hit the brakes.

As you can guess, the Fit crashes into the side of the bus before coming to a complete stop.

This is why you don't zone out during the defensive driving portion of your lessons!

Bus priority schemes

Several netizens quickly pointed out that the bus driver was wrong to assume that he would be given priority to exit the bus lane when there was no bus priority box printed on the road.

According to LTA,

Drivers are to stop and give way to buses exiting the bays when they notice this road marking.

However, there was no bus priority box marking on the roads in the video. The bus captain should have checked for oncoming traffic before leaving.

Looks like this bus captain needs to brush up on his driving theory!

All jokes aside, this incident has taught us all an important lesson - always perform your safety checks!

I know you are trying to generate content, and eyeballs, but your heading is wrong.

It makes it look like the bus driver is the main one at fault.

I get that both drivers are at fault, but the bus driver has a bigger liability because he failed to perform his safety checks before exiting the bus lane.

  • Japan is weird. I love it (Part 4)

I recently finished watching Shōgun (yes, I'm a little bit late to the party). Released earlier this year, Shōgun has become an utter revelation - going on to win 18 Emmys at this year's Primetime and Creative Arts Emmys, making it the most awarded single season of television in history. It's also the first non-English-language series to win Outstanding Drama Series.  And it truly is outstanding, fully deserving of all the awards that it has garnered.  As you would expect, the show rev

    A sole-ful tribute

Car enthusiasts are an emotional bunch. So, I naturally develop feelings for things on wheels, be it four wheels or two. However, I was surprised to discover that I had become attached to my old pair of sneakers, whose soles are so worn that it hurts to wear them.  That is the unequivocal signal to retire them. But I must say "Thank you" before bidding them goodbye. The laceless design is convenient, saving time when you need to rush off in the morning Through thick and

    Building a racing-themed watch!

This. This watch dial is the reason I started on this particular watch build... It all began when I came across someone's build that utilised the same dial - prior to this, I did not even know of the existence of a Walter Wolf Racing branded watch or dial. If you don't have any idea who or what Walter Wolf Racing is, here's an excerpt from Wikipedia: "Walter Wolf Racing was a Formula One constructor active from 1977 to 1979, which won the first race the team entered. It was owne

    A right-handers world

I was mid-way through a bike ride in Ladahk, feeling the ache in my right hand, when a thought occurred to me: “Huh, how come the throttle is always on the right side of all bikes?”  Statistically, about 90% of people in the world are right-handed. Full disclosure: I am right-handed, part of this largely ignorant majority.  And if you think about it, some things are designed clearly with that in mind.  Throttle on a motorcycle? Right hand. Accelerator pedal in a car? Right f
