Volkswagen Roc plays a cat and mouse chasing game and ends up crashing

This video is, as the kids say, very 'happening'.

For those confused with what had just happened in the video, let me unpack it for you.

We start with the camcar (the Volkswagen Roc driver) driving down Yio Chu Kang road.

As the black car in front of him starts to speed, the camcar driver revs his engine and chases his 'friend' in a silly speeding game.

As both cars speed down the lane, the drivers try their best to avoid crashing into other vehicles.

However, to the camcar's dismay, he crashes into a grey car after entering a bend.

Luckily for his 'friend', he manages to squeeze past the car before it changes lanes and avoids a collision.

The video ends with several pictures of the blue Volkswagen Scirocco after the crash.

Who is at fault here?
As evident from the footage of the accident, it is safe to say that the Volkswagen Roc is at fault here.

After all, it is common knowledge that street racing is illegal in Singapore.

According to the Road Traffic Act, individuals found guilty of street racing will face a punishment of a hefty fine, mandatory imprisonment and forfeiture of the vehicle involved.

Following the Tanjong Pagar incident earlier this year, the authorities have introduced a series of amendments to the Road Traffic Act. This includes higher fines and longer jail times for individuals found guilty of street racing in Singapore.

First-time offenders will face a maximum fine of $5,000 and up to a year in jail. Repeat offenders will be fined up to $10,000 and jailed for up to two years.

While I'm not an expert at car insurance, I highly doubt that the insurance company would be willing to pay the Roc driver after they find out about his little game of cat and mouse with his 'friend'.

I thought the video was shot from a third person's perspective as well, it took me a while to realise that it was the Volkswagen driver's POV. 😓

The Audi filtered into main road from a small road and tried to cut 3 lanes at once. How is he not at fault?

Not saying the Scirocco is innocent, but all 3 of them contributed to the accident.

If the ROC owner was smart, he should kept the video or burn the SD, and try to push the blame 100% to the Audi since he changed lane without checking or without care.

Of course, unless other witnesses gave evidence they were racing.

You, Sir, are an Idiot. If you actually ever driving a car in 30mph area you would realise the audi driver wouldn't have a chance as the two cars were not even in junction at the time audi started to move lanes and only due to going what looks like well over 60mph the two idiots connected.

Judging by you quoting MPH, I can assume you're not from Singapore, so I wouldn't blame you for knowing jack-shit about how our traffic laws work. It doesn't matter if you're going at 50kmh or 100kmh, cutting across 3 lanes without checking for approaching vehicles and your blindspot is just waiting for an accident to happen. In our country, we drive on the left side of the road, so he is cutting across to the right-most lane, where faster vehicles drive on. It doesn't matter where you're from, cutting 3 lanes at once into the fastest lane is the stupidest thing you can do while driving.

Also, in case you are unaware, the video is uploaded by the racing scirocco himself. Which is why i said if there is no video evidence, there will be no proof of them racing. He should have just burned the SD card away.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure all these out. Idiot.

  • Japan is weird. I love it (Part 4)

I recently finished watching Shōgun (yes, I'm a little bit late to the party). Released earlier this year, Shōgun has become an utter revelation - going on to win 18 Emmys at this year's Primetime and Creative Arts Emmys, making it the most awarded single season of television in history. It's also the first non-English-language series to win Outstanding Drama Series.  And it truly is outstanding, fully deserving of all the awards that it has garnered.  As you would expect, the show rev

My inexplicable attraction to instant food

Ready-to-eat microwaveable meals, instant noodles, plane food - these aren't typically the kinds of foods that people will spring for when given a choice. But for some reason, I actually enjoy eating foods like that, and would even find myself craving for them at times. I know, most of you would say it's the salt, seasoning, MSG, sugar and all the unhealthy flavourings that I'm hooked to. And you might be right - but I think it's more than that; there's something about eati

    Building a racing-themed watch!

This. This watch dial is the reason I started on this particular watch build... It all began when I came across someone's build that utilised the same dial - prior to this, I did not even know of the existence of a Walter Wolf Racing branded watch or dial. If you don't have any idea who or what Walter Wolf Racing is, here's an excerpt from Wikipedia: "Walter Wolf Racing was a Formula One constructor active from 1977 to 1979, which won the first race the team entered. It was owne

    CSI Miami, you are missed

When the original CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) first aired in 2000, I was intrigued. There had been plenty of police dramas prior to CSI, but this was the first one I watched that was focussed on forensics. From DNA to Luminol sprays to blood spatter to bullet striations, using science to unravel the mystery of a crime and compiling concrete evidence to convict criminals made for good storytelling. However, CSI was visually dark as the team featured in the show worked the night shif
