Father and son almost get crushed by C-HR with p-plates

TL;DR – A parked C-HR with p-plates suddenly accelerates and almost mauls a father and son at an open-air carpark. Things would have gotten ugly if they had been one second slower.

There can be miracles

While some of us might not be believers, a recent video uploaded on Roads.sg might change your mind.

The incident occurred on 10th September 2021.

Here’s the 35-second video:

A one-second difference between life and death

In an open-air carpark, location unknown, a father and his son casually walk past a cam car.

If you observe the video, you’ll notice a black Toyota C-HR directly opposite the cam car slowly inching forward as the father and son enter the frame. The C-HR then suddenly accelerates and crashes into the cam car just as the lucky duo clears the danger.

If it had been a second earlier, the father and son would have been caught in the collision.

Let’s address the elephant in the room

I’m sure everyone noticed the p-plates on the C-HR.

Could it be because of the driver’s inexperience?

Or it could have been a case of the driver talking on his phone? He was wearing his wireless earphones. And, if so, why wasn't his handbrake up?

But, by 2040, no more manual car already. If everyone drives like this in 2040, scary eh!

I’m just glad that by some miracle, a family did not lose a father and a son to a negligent driver.

That the wrong place to put a P-plate. It should be hanged at the top-right corner of the front wind screen.

  • Japan: The trend that became a turn-off

Ahh Japan. The destination that many travellers desire. The perennial trending subject on social media. Japanese cuisine, culture, quirks, technology, and everything kawaii have inspired endless posts, stories, reels, YouTube videos, and TikToks. If one didn't know better, you'd think it was the dream destination on this planet. While I love the food, the service and the shopping, the sheer number of tourists (me included) has become a turn-off. I'm not talking about those who inconven

My favourite racing game is back!

THERE'S A NEW TOKYO XTREME RACER GAME ON THE WAYYYY!!!! This is the best news for fans of this rather understated and obscure racing game. Also known as Shutoko Battle in Japan, this is a series of racing games by Genki, a Japanese game company that was founded in 1990. Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 is one of the most popular game in the series as it features many cars, opponents and an extensive map For those that have never heard of these games, I'll give you a quick run-down. The Music that Shaped Me, Pt. 1

Some of my colleagues will know that I make electronic music outside of work and school. A stark contrast from the impression I give off (several people throughout my teenage years told me I seemed more like a classical guy). Truth be told, I wasn’t always into music. Growing up in an average Singaporean Chinese household, my main sources were either the sporadic exposure to radio stations, or more frequently the theme songs of whatever was playing on KidsCentral/Okto (RIP free-to-air kids

Forget resolutions, just focus on starting fresh

The start of a new year is always a happy time for me. Apart from gatherings and mini reunions, January is when I reflect on everything I've accomplished last year, while mentally noting the things I still need to work on. Resolutions, though, are not for me. While it's not wrong to list some and strive towards them like goals, I think making resolutions is not the optimal way for me to reach new milestones, because more often than not, they're declared 'in the moment'. Or worse, after you'
