Back to the age-old question - Is it easier to park with or without cars around you?

In the forum discussion above, many said that it is easier to park with cars around you.

Well, I would think otherwise. Watch this clip and find out why:

This incident happened at an open-air carpark, located at 877 Tampines Street 84.

What happened?

The Lalamove driver, who was driving a Renault SUV, was caught on cam reversing into a PARKED AND STATIONARY Perodua.

Oh wells. I am guessing the Lalamove driver held onto the notion that parking with cars around you will be easier.

After realising he hit the Perodua, the Lalamove driver did not bother to even alight and check on the damage to both cars.

Instead, he scooted away and parked at a nearby lot.

How did it happen?

Honestly, I don't know how an incident like this can even happen.

I mean, almost every modern car these days comes equipped with parking sensors and a reverse camera.

I am assuming that the Lalamove driver:

(1) was using his mobile phone while reversing, or

(2) did not bother to check his side mirrors while reversing.

It is almost impossible to commit a hit and run in this day and age, especially with every vehicle armed with a dashcam - You will be caught, and the police will find you.

Maybe HDB has to start installing poles, similar to those in driving schools. What a shame.

Same. I was looking intently as he attempted to park the 2nd time.

Exactly my point. Got so many types of cameras - Dashcam, HDB CCTVs, LTA CCTVs and Police surveillance cameras. How to siam all of them?

Update: Both parties have privately settled this incident among themselves.

Taxi drivers got level of CB and we all know Red Coats are the biggest CBs.

Just the same as LalaMove drivers are the worse of their bunch too!

"I thought long and hard about it. If I park in another lot no one will know it was me!"

Clever plan right?

  • Japan is weird. I love it (Part 4)

I recently finished watching Shōgun (yes, I'm a little bit late to the party). Released earlier this year, Shōgun has become an utter revelation - going on to win 18 Emmys at this year's Primetime and Creative Arts Emmys, making it the most awarded single season of television in history. It's also the first non-English-language series to win Outstanding Drama Series.  And it truly is outstanding, fully deserving of all the awards that it has garnered.  As you would expect, the show rev

    Hard Enduro: The ultimate motorsport?

I enjoy motorsports of all kinds - four wheels good, two wheels better. And while watching them on TV (okay let's be honest Youtube, who even watches TV nowadays) is fun, getting to partake in anything even remotely resembling it, even in a highly truncated, totally superficial manner, is even more exciting.  Earlier this year, I did a short 2.5 day off-road riding 'tour', and it was easily the hardest, most physically demanding 2.5 days I've ever spent on a motorbike. It really gives you a

My inexplicable attraction to instant food

Ready-to-eat microwaveable meals, instant noodles, plane food - these aren't typically the kinds of foods that people will spring for when given a choice. But for some reason, I actually enjoy eating foods like that, and would even find myself craving for them at times. I know, most of you would say it's the salt, seasoning, MSG, sugar and all the unhealthy flavourings that I'm hooked to. And you might be right - but I think it's more than that; there's something about eati
