Should the LTA re-design this section of the CTE?

Untitledaccident.thumb.jpg.f2db03512fe2b0f30f2685de5c8d9226.jpg

Posted on Beh Chia Lor's Facebook page is this footage following a chain collision on the Central Tunnel Expressway, which supposedly happened just last evening (24 November 2020), right before the exit towards Upper Serangoon Road (headed towards the City).

From what we can tell from the video, it looks like up to six vehicles where involved in the accident, including one tipper lorry! (watch from the start of the video)

Netizens seem to be in agreement about the danger of the road layout along this section of the CTE...

What do you guys think? Is a re-design in order? Should a highway even allow so many cars to be crisscrossing each other to begin with? Should the section of the PIE that follows after (prior to the exit onto the KPE) be looked into as well? Tell us below!

These roads are designed by LTA scholars lo. They will think it's an ingenious design like no other. You say their road design got problem? They will reply you with a LTA standard reply.

Problem with ownself check ownself design.

Many drivers like to do last min exit. Cutting 2-3 lanes in short distance and causing other car to e-brake.

I travel to this exit everyday from work at Yishun. Very true that many drivers will cut in at last min to squeeze into the exit towards PIE(Changi).  I tend to keep the lane since AMK Ave 1 exit. Indeed Slower but I don't have to stress about missing the exit.

This stretch can be quite confusing for new drivers but as long as you slow down and watch your mirrors, it should be fine. Most accidents happen because people speed too much.

  • Godzilla Minus One: Surprisingly emotional and poignant

When one thinks of Godzilla movies, one imagines an oversized amphibious dinosaur generating a terrifying heat ray from its mouth and fighting with other oversized monsters. Meh, nothing special, right? Wrong. Here’s why Godzilla Minus One should be an action movie you should definitely catch. In this version, the timeless clash between monster and man is once again set against the tumultuous backdrop of post-war Japan. But, unlike typical action films that dive headfirst into destruction a

23 years on, Infernal Affairs remains the best gangster movie I've watched

TL;DR It's over two decades old, but Infernal Affairs remains THE gangster trilogy. *SPOILERS AHEAD* *SPOILERS AHEAD* *SPOILERS AHEAD* The Hong Kong Police and a triad have placed moles in each other's ranks. Tony Leung is Chan Wing Yan, an undercover cop desperate to leave his assignment. The antagonist is Senior Inspector Lau Kin Ming (Andy Lau), a decorated policeman who is actually a mole for Hon Sam (Eric Tsang), a triad boss. It's a game of cat-and-mouse, with poli

In a hyper-connected world, your physical presence is more important than ever

The advent of apps and the Internet have revolutionised our ability to connect instantaneously. From social media to video calls to messaging apps, our capacity for real-time communication is unprecedented. However, it seems that the more hyperconnected we are online, the further apart we're growing in real life. Experts' Consensus Doctors, scientists, and specialists have all reached the same conclusion: Staring at our devices causes us to drift further apart – a trend I've obser

Are forums outdated? I try to find out by asking AI

Is your boss asking you to explore and learn how to use AI to improve the quality and efficiency of your work? Yup, you aren't the only one in that boat.  Whilst exploring new AI tools, I figured: Why not use it to answer some burning questions that I have? This time, it was about whether forums are outdated. Yes, forums like this one that we are on. I remember how before social media became popular, and before apps like Carousell existed, forums were where I chatted with others t
