Ferrari it seems are beginning to add a 'spontaneously combust' option into their cars lately. It wasn't so long ago that I was in a familiar moment reporting on the combustion of a pristine F430 Spider.

 

Last weekend, a brand new Ferrari 458 burst into flames while its owner was parading it through the streets of Paris. Apparently the driver noticed that flames were licking the rear left wheel well when it started to spread to the rest of the car. Fortunately for the owner, a passer-by was carrying a large fire extinguisher (who the heck carries a fire-extinguisher while out for a stroll?!) and both managed to put out the fire before further damage was done.

 

Well at least the owner should be glad that the Italian supercar is keeping with tradition of its predecessors. The excitement of driving Italian sportscar doesn't just come from the speed but also from the car's innate mission to kill you for rousing its angry heart from slumber.

Italian cars - nice to look at, but crap at the bottom with fires, breakdown after 3 yrs, unreliable engine as years go by (like 3...).
