Rowan Atkinson, or better known as Mr. Bean, has a Mercedes 500E up for sale. This is the second example he has put up for sale in the recent years.

The British actor has some very good taste in cars and his collection of cars has long been well documented over the years. He used to have a McLaren F1 which he crashed twice, as well as various Aston Martins, a Honda NSX, a Ferrari 456 GT and some other classic BMWs.

The Mercedes-Benz 500E you see here had been featured in U.K’s Car magazine and comes with proper service history. However, it is no pristine, low mileage example as it has done more than 310,000 kilometres.

Interestingly, Atkinson had more than one 500Es in his garage, with the specific car being a pre-facelift example from 1991. It is believed that he owned the car since new and kept it for four years before selling it to its second owner. 23 years later, in 2017, Atkinson managed to buy the car back and is now offering it up sale at an auction.

For those who aren't in the know, the 500E was one of the best 'sleeper' cars from the 90s. With almost no sign of any go-faster parts on the outside, not many are aware of the Porsche-assembled 326bhp 5.0-litre V8 that resides in the engine bay that will allow it to do the century sprint in 5.9 seconds.

  • Japan is weird. I love it (Part 4)

I recently finished watching Shōgun (yes, I'm a little bit late to the party). Released earlier this year, Shōgun has become an utter revelation - going on to win 18 Emmys at this year's Primetime and Creative Arts Emmys, making it the most awarded single season of television in history. It's also the first non-English-language series to win Outstanding Drama Series.  And it truly is outstanding, fully deserving of all the awards that it has garnered.  As you would expect, the show rev

My inexplicable attraction to instant food

Ready-to-eat microwaveable meals, instant noodles, plane food - these aren't typically the kinds of foods that people will spring for when given a choice. But for some reason, I actually enjoy eating foods like that, and would even find myself craving for them at times. I know, most of you would say it's the salt, seasoning, MSG, sugar and all the unhealthy flavourings that I'm hooked to. And you might be right - but I think it's more than that; there's something about eati

    A sole-ful tribute

Car enthusiasts are an emotional bunch. So, I naturally develop feelings for things on wheels, be it four wheels or two. However, I was surprised to discover that I had become attached to my old pair of sneakers, whose soles are so worn that it hurts to wear them.  That is the unequivocal signal to retire them. But I must say "Thank you" before bidding them goodbye. The laceless design is convenient, saving time when you need to rush off in the morning Through thick and

    Maps

The world map is a lie.  Well, sort of. If you think of a 2D, rectangular world map, the image that comes to mind is what's called a Mercator projection: It's... a map, no doubt, but with some very obvious distortions. The most obvious one being Antarctica, which seems like almost another planet, as well as Greenland being absolutely massive and seemingly the same size as Africa, when it is in fact 1/14 the size.  Representing a 3D sphere (Earth) on a 2D surface is fundament
