BMW has officially ended production of the E60 BMW M5 after five years of production. 20,548 units of the fourth-generation M5 were assembled during this time, the majority of which were saloons. Only 1,025 BMW M5 Touring units were built since the five-door's release in 2007.

The E60 M5 featured a 5.0-liter V10 petrol engine that delivers 509 horsepower, and up to 520Nm of torque. Mated to either a seven-speed SMG or six-speed manual transmission, the car was capable of a 0-100 km/h time of 4.2 seconds. Though the car was theoretically able to hit 337 km/h, its speed was electronically-limited to 249 km/h.

BMW will likely begin modifying their Dingolfing, Germany, factory to prepare for the F10 M5 production. The fifth-generation M5 is expected to get the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 found in the X5 M and X6 M. It will potentially be tuned to deliver 570 hp and up to 680Nm of torque.

  • A sole-ful tribute

Car enthusiasts are an emotional bunch. So, I naturally develop feelings for things on wheels, be it four wheels or two. However, I was surprised to discover that I had become attached to my old pair of sneakers, whose soles are so worn that it hurts to wear them.  That is the unequivocal signal to retire them. But I must say "Thank you" before bidding them goodbye. The laceless design is convenient, saving time when you need to rush off in the morning Through thick and

    Disconnecting from Our Virtual Reality

Recently, I had a scare at work. My laptop was suddenly unable to access the Internet despite working fine the entire day. A check with IT showed that the browser I was using, Arc, had somehow triggered the Falcon cybersecurity program, which promptly locked down my laptop despite the browser having worked fine for almost a year at that point. While I thankfully had cleared out my video backlog before it happened (most of them pending approval, a couple ready to publish), I was unable

I'm not a fan of Christmas.  Let's first set aside the unclear and potentially contentious origins of this particular 'holiday', and my general apathy towards religiosity. (Christians celebrate it as the day of Jesus' birth, though some evidence suggests his actual birth was in the spring. Some historians also note that the Christian traditions of Christmas can be traced back to Pagan roots and the Saturnalia festival, and the chosen 25 December date was an attempt by church leaders to appr

Titan's Fall: Back to Square One

Manchester United have once again signalled a restart with the sacking of Ten Hag, and just days later, announced the appointment of Ruben Amorim, who will join midway through the first half of the current season from Sporting Lisbon. Back to square one yet again for the Red Devils who, despite being one of the most successful clubs in England and biggest clubs in the world, have not won a league title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013. Since then, they’ve gone through a whole ho
