According to a recent report, the Opel Astra OPC / Vauxhall Astra VXR will finally become a legitimate competitor to the Ford Focus RS.

 

While details are limited, Autocar is reporting the high performance Astra will feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 300 hp. If they are correct, the new engine will boast 63 hp more than its predecessor. Unlike the Insignia OPC / VXR, the Astra will continue to be front-wheel driven. This means GM will likely equip the car with an electronic differential to help alleviate torque steer.

 

Expected to go on sale in late 2011, the hot hatch will likely wear an aggressive body kit with revised bumpers, flared wheel arches, and a roof-mounted spoiler.

    Japan is weird. I love it (Part 7)

    Ok, the title might be slightly misleading, but there is still a Japan-link.  So, pufferfish. Specifically, a wikipedia entry called Pufferfish mating ritual.  Long story short, one particular species of pufferfish make complex geometric circles in the sand to attract a mate.     Zebras

    On a recent podcast episode, this hilarious nugget of information was brought up: "Zebras have the loudest farts".  What.  I have spent some time Googling this, and I cannot yet definitely verify the accuracy of this statement.
