Peugeot has pulled the curtains of the 308 GTI and it has been more than 10 years since the French marquee brought out a GTI in this class of vehicle.

The Peugeot 308 GTi will be powered by the same 1.6 litre THP, 200ps engine that will be featured in the RCZ coupe model, making it a credible competitor to the VW Golf GTI, which pumps out 211ps. The THP engine which is fitted with a twin-Scroll turbocharger and a high pressure direct-injection system with Variable valve and timing injection technology, produces 275 Nm of torque. It come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 7.7 seconds while fuel consumption is rated at 6.9 liters/100 km and CO2 emission is 159 g/km.

A sound system technology has also been employed to make sure the engine rumble provides for just the right sporty sound that customers will be looking for. The GTI

'credible competitor' to the Golf GTi ?!!! it will lose outright in a straight dash (6.9s for Golf GTi century sprint). in terms of road handling, i doubt its rear torsion beam is gonna do it any good. combined with the 308 chassis which isn't meant for sports /road handling performance, i think peugeot is throwing $ down the drain again unless they can price it real cheap and make it a budget GTi

It is about total experience rather than mere spec that will differentiate the better gti.

Full fun factor still goes to Cooper s I think. But this gti is the perfect balance of pretty face with brains

  • A sole-ful tribute

Car enthusiasts are an emotional bunch. So, I naturally develop feelings for things on wheels, be it four wheels or two. However, I was surprised to discover that I had become attached to my old pair of sneakers, whose soles are so worn that it hurts to wear them.  That is the unequivocal signal to retire them. But I must say "Thank you" before bidding them goodbye. The laceless design is convenient, saving time when you need to rush off in the morning Through thick and

    When suppressed feelings arise

"Don't keep it bottled up inside" is a saying many of us are familiar with. By now, most of us are aware that ignoring your emotions is an unhealthy practice. Yet many of us do it anyway. I don't think I'm particularly stoic, but as I get older, I've realised that I do tend to not express how I'm feeling, and that this practice has led to anxiety. One example of this happened just a few weeks ago. Prior to this year's Motor Show, I had trouble sleeping. I would keep waking up with my m

    The Act of Creation

“WHAT’S A GOOD USERNAME?!” Such was the source of my agony as I was handed a pair of figurative keys to MyAutoBlog. I’d asked the colleague from IT who was helping me set up this account if I really had to make an account with my work email, hoping I could use the username that came with my personal MCF account instead. “yes”, in lowercase no less, was what I got. Oh well. After a good 10 minutes (I think), I decided on this username (a reference I hope someone gets), juvenile and

Titan's Fall: Back to Square One

Manchester United have once again signalled a restart with the sacking of Ten Hag, and just days later, announced the appointment of Ruben Amorim, who will join midway through the first half of the current season from Sporting Lisbon. Back to square one yet again for the Red Devils who, despite being one of the most successful clubs in England and biggest clubs in the world, have not won a league title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013. Since then, they’ve gone through a whole ho
