blogentry-133713-0-24538300-1409668943_thumb.jpgWe all know Volkswagen Golfs are great sensible all-rounders for the family while still possessing decent verve when the driver is in the mood for a short blast. Apparently, someone in Russia thinks that it is too sensible and decides to turn his Mk6 Golf R into a 700bhp twin turbo monster. With the help of all-wheel drive and good reaction time, it proceeds to see off some much more expensive machinery. Watch the video below to see it in action.

Expected result. Drag races are so easy to predict based on specs on paper alone.

It's cool to see how a more humble-badged Golf can outrun a Gallardo....though ironically, both cars come from the same company

Yup, it would be more interesting if they did not do a standing start race. A rolling start race would be a clearer indication of who is actually faster without relying on AWD traction.

Not surprising since it is modified. Street mod cars have often done that against bigger and powerful cars. Think it is how deep your pocket is wiling to go to mod your car.

We happy few, we Band of Brothers

It is safe to say that one way or another, the majority of Singaporean men have served their country. Be it sleeping in the jungles of Mandai, walking the beat on the streets of Clarke Quay on New Year’s Eve, or putting out fires (literally) clad in heavy protective gear, most local and naturalised male citizens have given up, as the song goes, “two years of our time”. But many have differing views of National Service. Some see it as a hindrance, a waste of time. Some see it as an opportuni

    The Joys of Morning Walks

Like most other folks stuck in the rut of smartphone-hyper-use, I recently caught myself doing the same each morning: Waking up to immediately reach for my phone. Reflecting on the first quarter of the year, however – and realising that I’ve been subconsciously plunged into an extended bout of languidness – brought me to the realisation: Perhaps it's time to embrace a different routine. One that started with stepping outside into the crisp morning air, and feeling the gentle warmth of
