For those who don't, it sold around 1,000 of these Kia Elans which was meant for the domestic market. This was during the time when it was still pretty small and had to rely on other manufacturers to base their cars on.

Not much was changed visually other than a taller ride height and unique tailights. They also replaced the Isuzu 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that produced 162bhp with its own naturally-aspirated 1.8-litre 150bhp engine.

Had a Lotus Elan turbo in the family. Of course, that had a Isuzu engine. Upgraded to Wilwood brakes and enjoyed it for a while. Decent ride, but quite the moneypit, so we sold it off to a used car dealer. Ended up being bought by one of our almost-neighbours (not someone right next to us, but in our neighbourhood),

Cool. Brakes were upgraded because they faded fast or?

Well, when we got it, stock brakes were not confidence-inspiring, so we just upgraded.

  • A sole-ful tribute

Car enthusiasts are an emotional bunch. So, I naturally develop feelings for things on wheels, be it four wheels or two. However, I was surprised to discover that I had become attached to my old pair of sneakers, whose soles are so worn that it hurts to wear them.  That is the unequivocal signal to retire them. But I must say "Thank you" before bidding them goodbye. The laceless design is convenient, saving time when you need to rush off in the morning Through thick and

Japan is weird. I love it (Part 5)

There are plenty of strange sports in this world. People running from bulls. People running after cheese. Power Slap.  But of course few places do weird quite like Japan. Introducing to you: Bo-taoshi.  The name means 'topple the pole', and that's exactly the name of the game. Except of course its never quite so simple.  You want teams? Oh, you get teams. 150 players, split into 75 offensive and 75 defensive - one holding your pole up, the other attacking another team to topple th

Titan's Fall: Back to Square One

Manchester United have once again signalled a restart with the sacking of Ten Hag, and just days later, announced the appointment of Ruben Amorim, who will join midway through the first half of the current season from Sporting Lisbon. Back to square one yet again for the Red Devils who, despite being one of the most successful clubs in England and biggest clubs in the world, have not won a league title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013. Since then, they’ve gone through a whole ho

    Cleaning is relaxing?

Every once in awhile, I find myself watching 20-minute long videos on Youtube on something that most people will probably find quite bizarre: Carpet cleaning videos.  (This video has 5.4m views!!!!) It's... a particular kind of Youtube rabbit hole. I concede that.  However, I must say that I find such videos strangely relaxing and soothing. Beyond the ASMR component of it, I do find something quite nice about the specificity and particularity of such videos, and in some
