Is this the answer to louder sounding F1 cars?
While we all know that this year's Formula One 1.6-litre V6 Turbo power units have been criticised for being too soft in terms of volume, some people prefer the quieter and more defined engine note.
However, it seems that the FIA, F1's governing body, has decided that the cars need more noise. And Mercedes is possibly the first one with a solution - a flared 'megaphone' exhaust. Sadly, early reports indicate that the new exhaust does not make much of a difference to the volume of the engine.
