blogentry-133713-0-22207200-1397466627_thumb.jpgSingaporeans have always loved their sedans. Look at the amount of Mercedes-Benz and Toyota sedans on our roads if you aren't convinced.

blogentry-133713-0-48482800-1397466682_thumb.jpgNot to be outdone, Audi introduced their A3 sedan with its 122bhp 1.4 TFSI engine.

blogentry-133713-0-76635500-1397466691_thumb.jpgWhile its power output is nothing to shout about, it goes about providing the A3 sedan with plenty of low end torque (200Nm of it from 1,400rpm) to make merging into highways a stress-free experience.

blogentry-133713-0-66229400-1397466677_thumb.jpgI personally felt the engine performed at its best if driven sedately. Revving the engine to its redline revealed slight breathlessness as with most turbo engines. .

blogentry-133713-0-58575800-1397466669_thumb.jpgWhile the rest of my colleagues drove it pretty hard when we had the car, I tried a short eco-friendly run from the west to the central of singapore and I registered a similar 17km/L reading when we road tested the A3 Sportback.

blogentry-133713-0-78946600-1397466665_thumb.jpgRiding softer than its hatch sibling, the sedan settles into a nice cruise at highway speeds. While the steering is not the best of its kind, it provides enough feedback to the driver and weighs well.

blogentry-133713-0-63321100-1397466769_thumb.jpgInside, it is business as usual for Audi with probably the best cabin in its class. Cabin space is decent but sitting three at the back might be slightly uncomfortable for long drives up North.

blogentry-133713-0-10447300-1397466620_thumb.jpgWe think the A3 would do well here with its handsome, crisp silhouette and a proper trunk. Seems like the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class just got itself a pretty decent rival!

Personally, I think this is a much better car than the CLA. CLA has the looks but poor practicality as a sacrifice for looks. This is smart looking, practical and has the prestige, all the traits luxury car buyers are looking for. Would choose this over the CLA by a country mile and it cost less too, even compared to the less powered CLA180.

  • Godzilla Minus One: Surprisingly emotional and poignant

When one thinks of Godzilla movies, one imagines an oversized amphibious dinosaur generating a terrifying heat ray from its mouth and fighting with other oversized monsters. Meh, nothing special, right? Wrong. Here’s why Godzilla Minus One should be an action movie you should definitely catch. In this version, the timeless clash between monster and man is once again set against the tumultuous backdrop of post-war Japan. But, unlike typical action films that dive headfirst into destruction a

    The Joys of Morning Walks

Like most other folks stuck in the rut of smartphone-hyper-use, I recently caught myself doing the same each morning: Waking up to immediately reach for my phone. Reflecting on the first quarter of the year, however – and realising that I’ve been subconsciously plunged into an extended bout of languidness – brought me to the realisation: Perhaps it's time to embrace a different routine. One that started with stepping outside into the crisp morning air, and feeling the gentle warmth of

A 20-year journey, an old passion rekindled

For us 90s babies, the Holy Trinity of Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network formed a big part of our childhood. The internet was just about coming into fruition, with the rise of a plethora of websites with numerous entertaining flash games and of course, the early days of YouTube. And though those things have come and gone, one thing in my life remained constant: My love for Pokemon. I first got into Pokemon 20 years ago, and I remember exactly how it went down. Let me set the

The fun in collecting postcards without (really ever) sending them

I believe I may not be alone when I say that I’m quite the avid collector of postcards, but rarely ever send them out to family or friends. To some, this might seem counterintuitive, even wasteful. But for me, these miniature works of art serve a different purpose. They're windows into distant lands; time capsules of bygone eras; and conversation starters par excellence. In fact, in a city as fast-paced as Singapore, where our lives often revolve around our vehicles and the next destination
