blogentry-133713-0-58022000-1395394654_thumb.jpgI have always wondered if a Mitsubishi Evolution owner wants to upgrade to another All-Wheel Drive (AWD) sedan which uses forced induction, what would he get? Unless I am mistaken, there are not many options other than the current Audi S4/S6 sedans. Fortunately, AMG has provided another option with its CLA 45 AMG.

blogentry-133713-0-67670800-1395395073_thumb.jpgWith one of the highest specific outputs of any road car, the 2.0-litre turbocharged engine in the CLA 45 has helped it to be one of the most effective point-and-shoot weapons on the road in any weather.

blogentry-133713-0-21529800-1395394692_thumb.jpgThe engine, which is the highlight of the car for me, has minimal lag and pulls strongly all the way to the red line unlike most turbocharged cars.

blogentry-133713-0-35202200-1395394709_thumb.jpgIt sounds pretty good at the top of the range too, although it will not be mistaken as one of AMG's V8s. Reach for the next gear and it rewards you with a loud "barrrrpppp". And I mean 'Loud'. It might be too much for some but I personally love it!

blogentry-133713-0-52357700-1395394675_thumb.jpgOn the handling front, it rides softer as compared to its sister, the A 45 AMG hatchback. Unless you drive them back to back, chances are you wouldn't notice the difference.

blogentry-133713-0-77697100-1395395871_thumb.jpgIts variable-ratio steering feels sharp and weighting is fine. Road feel could be improved though.

blogentry-133713-0-02921100-1395395538_thumb.jpgNo complaints on the brakes. They are pretty much as good as they can get.

blogentry-133713-0-95485400-1395395569_thumb.jpgSeats hug you snug and also look great.

blogentry-133713-0-41955200-1395395630_thumb.jpgRed belts remind you this is something special.

blogentry-133713-0-00941200-1395395937_thumb.jpgAMG illuminated side step is one of the many features that adds to the overall feel-good factor of the car.

blogentry-133713-0-42357100-1395396212_thumb.jpgWhile it might be slightly pricey, its looks and talent more than makes up for it. Evo owners, look no further.

  • Journey to the West: First Steps in Southwestern China, Pt. 2

Note: Click here to read Pt. 1, where the journey began in Hong Kong. NEXT UP: CHONGQING Day 3, cont.: Dad had decided on the scenic route to Chongqing - train. We did not realise that the immigration process at the Hong Kong Kowloon West station involved both the Hong Kong and Chinese authorities, so we found ourselves in a rush to board the train (we boarded minutes before the scheduled departure). Through the eight-hour journey, the passing sights made me realise the diversity

    Zebras

On a recent podcast episode, this hilarious nugget of information was brought up: "Zebras have the loudest farts".  What.  I have spent some time Googling this, and I cannot yet definitely verify the accuracy of this statement. But there is some scientific basis to it - zebras are hindgut fermenters, and there's a whole bunch of biology behind it but the important takeaway is that yes, zebras fart plenty. This also explains their 'bum-heavy' shape, similar to cows, horses, el

    Mycarforum visits Omoda

Attendees to this latest Mycarforum hangout event with Omoda got up close to the E5 and Jaecoo J7 and got a few tips on driving an electric car in Malaysia. It may have been close to a month since we visited the Skoda Kodiaq, but our Mycarforum members clearly could not get enough of the opportunity to explore new cars. At least, that's what the turnout at the latest Mycarforum hangout suggested! This new hangout session saw more than 30 of our members heading down to the new Omoda sho
