blogentry-133712-0-65345600-1390098820_thumb.jpgWhen Porsche took the top off its brand new 911 Targa recently, it was indeed cause for pause. Simply put, it was one of the most complicated and intricate electronic roof panel removal techniques ever seen.

blogentry-133712-0-99053400-1390098814_thumb.jpgWhile the last Targa featured a trick sliding glass roof at the touch of the button, the new car dramatically swallows a traditional-looking panel via an exceptionally complex-looking mechanical operation.

blogentry-133712-0-89335400-1390098817_thumb.jpgBasically, rather than just the roof panel coming off, the entire rear glass area lifts away the body in order for the small section over the passenger compartment to slide back. Now, this has got to be incredibly expensive to repair in the event it breaks. And it's highly impossible you'll be able to operate this mechanism at any speed. Watch the video below to see the incredible roof in action.

Wow... the roof open and close is really futuristic. Passengers don't want to get close though. You never know if you will get kiap by the moving parts. Cos everything moves in an unpredictable manner.

The entire car design is super old-school though.

Btw, the first 50secs of the video is crap.

We happy few, we Band of Brothers

It is safe to say that one way or another, the majority of Singaporean men have served their country. Be it sleeping in the jungles of Mandai, walking the beat on the streets of Clarke Quay on New Year’s Eve, or putting out fires (literally) clad in heavy protective gear, most local and naturalised male citizens have given up, as the song goes, “two years of our time”. But many have differing views of National Service. Some see it as a hindrance, a waste of time. Some see it as an opportuni
