Fully aware of the benefits of head protection, Schumacher was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, but the severity of the impact has apparently left the racer in a coma.

Though conscious after the impact, Schumacher was reportedly left dazed and shocked from the impact as he was airlifted first to a trauma center in Moutiers and then transported to University Hospital Center in nearby Grenoble. Schumacher arrived in a coma and required immediate brain surgery.

There are conflicting reports of Schumacher's present condition, with initial reports suggesting the injury was "not very serious" and newer information suggesting that he sustained "severe head trauma."

There were also reports saying that the 44-year-old German was "suffering a serious brain trauma with coma on his arrival, which required an immediate neurosurgical operation".

Press conference :

Schumacher is still fighting for his life in an induced coma.

The seven-time F1 world champion has had one operation, which removed clots on the brain.

Doctors say they are working hour-by-hour and are unwilling to give any more information.

They did say, however, he wouldn't have survived without a helmet.

Hospital has confirmed that the seven-time Formula One World Champion 1 is battling a number of "very serious problems" stemming from his weekend skiing accident sustained in the French Alps. First, Schumacher endured cerebral hemorrhaging that was repeatedly "flooding the brain coaxial lesions" and he has also suffered a cerebral edema. Doctors reportedly have the racer in an induced coma as well as hypothermia in an attempt to reduce potential brain damage. Jean-François Payen, Head of Anesthesiology at the hospital said Monday at an early-morning press conference, "For the moment, we can not decide on the fate of Michael Schumacher."

Paris Match also reported that Schumacher's helmet had "exploded" into three pieces upon impact with a rock on the ski slope.

  • A sole-ful tribute

Car enthusiasts are an emotional bunch. So, I naturally develop feelings for things on wheels, be it four wheels or two. But I must say "Thank you" before bidding them goodbye. The laceless design is convenient, saving time when you need to rush off in the morning Through thick and

    Carpark Review: Downtown East

It used to be most associated with Wild Wild Wet (or Escape Theme Park if you're of a certain vintage) but now is more typically visited by those looking to shop at the NTUC Fairprice of E!Hub or Don Don Donki. Downtown East spans a total of 147,000sqm and was officially opened on 5 November 2000 (according to Wikipedia). For those residing in the far east of Pasir Ris, this is likely to be their port of call for the grocery run (the other typical location being Loyang East). But just how g

Titan's Fall: Back to Square One

Manchester United have once again signalled a restart with the sacking of Ten Hag, and just days later, announced the appointment of Ruben Amorim, who will join midway through the first half of the current season from Sporting Lisbon. Back to square one yet again for the Red Devils who, despite being one of the most successful clubs in England and biggest clubs in the world, have not won a league title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013. Since then, they’ve gone through a whole ho
