The rear view camera of the Nissan Note is vital for proper functioning of safety features such as Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning and Moving Object Detection. It is akin to a human eye that keeps a lookout for danger.

Dust or dirt gets into our eye some time and impairs its function. Similarly, the rear view camera can get dirty. Hence, the engineers at Nissan have incorporated a self-cleaning feature into the camera.

"We couldn't allow the camera's lens to get dirty at any time because it would detract from the technology's performance in everyday use with the customer. However, we didn't want the task of cleaning the lens to fall at the hands of the driver, so the intelligent self-cleaning system was developed," explained Richard Picton, Nissan's Safety Shield engineer.

The self-cleaning system is smart enough to differentiate between mud and rain water. It uses a blast of air to clear away light dust while a slash of muddy water from a puddle will require a squirt of water followed by an air blast.

Below is a video presentation explaining the camera's self-cleaning function.

  • Why can't we be better at airplanes?

I really, really do not enjoy flying. As someone who has to get onto an airplane on a semi-regular basis, I really do not enjoy it (a feeling that has only grown over time).  Honestly, there's nothing about the experience that I enjoy. From having to take out your laptop and liquids at security (regulations vary from airport to airport), standing in line at immigration, mishandled/lost baggage, flight delays and cancellations, there's a lot that makes the experience much less seamless than

    10 terrible wedding songs

A song can have a catchy title and/or chorus, but its true meaning is only found within its lyrics. Most people, however, take the song title to be its meaning and don't consider its actual content. Here are 10 songs that sound romantic but should be avoided. 10) Irreplaceable – Beyoncé Don't mistake this for being

I never knew Monster Trucks were so popular here

Although it appeared to be selling out fast back when my friend shared the link to the Monster Jam Singapore event some months ago, I could never expect just how popular the event turned out to be until the day itself. You see, originating in the USA, Monster Trucks aren't really an international phenomenon, unlike F1 or other forms of motorsports. Even someone like me, who's very interested in cars, doesn't really know much about these massive machines. And yet, on the day of the even
