26-year old Maria Sharapova has signed a three year contract with Porsche whereby she will be involved in the firm's global communications campaign. At last year's Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, she won herself a white 911 Carrera S Cabriolet in addition to the prize money.

 

Maria Sharapova is already the face of Nike, Tag Heuer and now she can add sports cars to her list.

 

Porsche CEO Matthias Mueller called Maria Sharapova an exceptional athlete who combines top performance in her sports with elegance and power. He added that these were precisely the qualities that were embroiled in the brand's sports cars. Maria Sharapova declared that she had the privilege to be associated with some of the best brands in the world, but to be partners with Porsche was an amazing honour.

 

Maria Sharapova is a Russian professional tennis player who, as of 22nd April 2013, is ranked World No. 2 by the Women's Tennis Association.
