Volkswagen reveals the MK 7 Golf in Berlin

After all the anticipation, Volkswagen has lifted the curtain off the MK 7 Golf at the New National Gallery in Berlin, Germany. The exterior design is sharper and clearly an evolution of the MK 6.
The vital new model for Volkswagen measures 4,255mm long, 2,637mm wide and 1,452mm tall, making the car bigger than the outgoing model in all 3 dimensions. The car rides on the new MQB platform which helps it to weigh up to 100 kg less than its predecessor. The 2013 Golf will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show.
At launch, a series of petrol and diesel engines are available. The base gasoline model is equipped with a 1.2-litre TSI unit generating 84bbhp, followed by a 1.4-litre TSI with cylinder deactivation technology that churns out 138bhp.
