Born on 8th September 1926, Sergio went on to receive a degree in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic of Torino in 1950. He started his career at his father's coach building and design company, Carrozzeria Pinin Farina, as the General Manager in 1960. He eventually became the chairman following the death of his father, Battista Pinin Farina, in 1966.

During his tenure, the company created some of the most iconic automobiles in history. Among them are, according to chronological order:

  • 1984 Ferrari Testarossa
  • 1986 Fiat 124 Spider
  • 1986 Cadillac Allante
  • 1987 Alfa Romeo 164
  • 1995 Bentley Azure
  • 1996 Peugeot 406 Coupe
  • 2002 Ferrari Enzo
  • 2003 Maserati Quattroporte
  • 2004 Ferrari Scaglietti

In 2006, he stepped down as president of Pininfarina and became Honorary Chairman of the company.

Pininfarina was active in politics as well. Between 1979 and 1988, he was a Liberal Party Member of the European Parliament (MEP), where his party was a part of the European Liberal Democrat alliance.

Pininfarina leaves behind a wife and two sons.

Not all cars designed by Pininfarina are nice.... One classic example is the Hyundai Matrix, the team's probably drunk when they design it...

designer will design to your requirement not the other way round. you picture your

desired intention and they translate. designer have lots of ideas..you choose..

that how they got paid..end product good or ugly it's still your choice and it has always been yours...

  • Space: Large and Empty

Over the weekend I fell into a bit of a science-fiction/science rabbithole. Big things are funny things

Being anywhere tangentially close to current affairs news right now is deeply depressing. In so many ways, the world seems like it's going to s*it.  In a bid to escape all that and cheer myself up a little, I've been recently amused and moderately infatuated with randomly huge things. Here are just a couple that make me chuckle:  Yup, the world's largest chair. I also find the name of the company, XXXLutz, incredibly funny and more than a little blue.  Otto the ot

Challenging myself to a week without coffee or sweetened drinks

Sometimes, the key to spicing up your life can take a very simple and mundane form. Or in the case of a challenge I embarked on in early-July, a bland and literally tasteless one. Feeling sometime in mid-June that I had been swept up too mindlessly by the push-and-pull of the everyday, and seeing that I *had* to reclaim some sense of agency with the way I lived, I eventually decided: I would allow myself only water as a drink. I'm pretty sure Yakun and Toast Box lost a fair bit o
