Hyundai has unveiled the European specced Veloster Turbo at Geneva. This turbocharged version of the quirky Veloster brings a little more power to the car that has all the styling of speed but saddled with only 140 horses from its normally aspirated 1.6-litre engine. With the application of a turbocharger, the Hyundai Veloster Turbo makes 183bhp and about 270Nm torque. Good for the affordable single rear door coupe to have a 0-100km/h time of 8.4seconds compared to the 9.7seconds of the 1180kg normally aspirated car.

This is actually an affordable fastback cum coupe for the masses but unfortunately for us over here, Hyundai has not even brought in the normally aspirated model pictured above. The right hand drive variant has been launched early 2011 and it is already being sold in the UK and Australia. This brings us to the problem of affordability

There's already D-CVVT version available as a test car. GDi will be here in mid-2012. T-GDi is said to be coming here according to the ST. You should know this news since you are a motoring journalist mah?! :)

my apologies...but we have been waiting for that D-CVVT base model since mid-2011. I simply forgot to check about that car till news of this turbo variant came out.

  • Hard Enduro: The ultimate motorsport?

I enjoy motorsports of all kinds - four wheels good, two wheels better. And while watching them on TV (okay let's be honest Youtube, who even watches TV nowadays) is fun, getting to partake in anything even remotely resembling it, even in a highly truncated, totally superficial manner, is even more exciting.  Earlier this year, I did a short 2.5 day off-road riding 'tour', and it was easily the hardest, most physically demanding 2.5 days I've ever spent on a motorbike. It really gives you a

My inexplicable attraction to instant food

Ready-to-eat microwaveable meals, instant noodles, plane food - these aren't typically the kinds of foods that people will spring for when given a choice. But for some reason, I actually enjoy eating foods like that, and would even find myself craving for them at times. I know, most of you would say it's the salt, seasoning, MSG, sugar and all the unhealthy flavourings that I'm hooked to. And you might be right - but I think it's more than that; there's something about eati

    DENZA D9: True Flagship Excellence

What makes something a flagship? Flagship products represent the very best of a brand. Whether it's cars, electronic products, even services, a 'flagship' is core to a brand experience, as well as to the brand's image. Besides just delivering all the tangible features and functionality offered by the brand, a flagship product is also a showcase of the intangible - about what a brand stands for, and what it aims to deliver to customers. DENZA, a BYD Premium Brand, has now been officiall

    Building a racing-themed watch!

This. This watch dial is the reason I started on this particular watch build... It all began when I came across someone's build that utilised the same dial - prior to this, I did not even know of the existence of a Walter Wolf Racing branded watch or dial. If you don't have any idea who or what Walter Wolf Racing is, here's an excerpt from Wikipedia: "Walter Wolf Racing was a Formula One constructor active from 1977 to 1979, which won the first race the team entered. It was owne
