Singapore's multi-modal public transport service provider - has signed a memorandum of understanding with China's BYD. Under terms of the MoU, the two firms will discuss establishing a joint venture to distribute BYD's electric eBUS-12 and e6 taxis in Singapore.

SMRT's executive vice-president of commercial business and roads, Teo Chew Hoon, said: "In our day-to-day operations at SMRT, we look into air, water and energy management diligently. To further promote better air quality, we are exploring the use of electric vehicles in our bus and taxi fleets that the company is actively exploring the feasibility of battery-powered buses and taxis."

BYD claims that, when fully charged, both the BYD eBUS-12 and the e6 taxis can travel up to 300 kilometers under optimal conditions. BYD's definitition of optimal, however, includes not running the airconditioning, which would certainly be sub-optimal for Singapore passengers.

Last month BYD received a contract for 300 eBUS012s to be used at the 2011 International Universiade Games taking place in Shenzhen, China, later this year. Thereafter, they will be incorporated into the Shenzhen Bus Group fleet.

A fleet of 50 BYD e6 taxis has been in service in Shenzhen for more than a year and has clocked up a combined total of more than three million kilometers.

    DENZA D9: True Flagship Excellence

What makes something a flagship? Flagship products represent the very best of a brand. Whether it's cars, electronic products, even services, a 'flagship' is core to a brand experience, as well as to the brand's image. Besides just delivering all the tangible features and functionality offered by the brand, a flagship product is also a showcase of the intangible - about what a brand stands for, and what it aims to deliver to customers. DENZA, a BYD Premium Brand, has now been officiall

    Relaxing to restoration videos

There are tons of YouTube videos one could watch to unwind and decompress at the end of the day, perhaps while having dinner. You could watch one of those nature documentaries, travel vlogs featuring beautiful beaches, or perhaps a cooking show. But there's something strangely therapeutic about watching restoration videos. And the channel I find myself drawn to is Fumicho Restoration, a channel full of videos of old motorcycles being repaired and essentially reborn. I'm not even familiar wi

    Building a racing-themed watch!

This. This watch dial is the reason I started on this particular watch build... It all began when I came across someone's build that utilised the same dial - prior to this, I did not even know of the existence of a Walter Wolf Racing branded watch or dial. If you don't have any idea who or what Walter Wolf Racing is, here's an excerpt from Wikipedia: "Walter Wolf Racing was a Formula One constructor active from 1977 to 1979, which won the first race the team entered. It was owne
