French automobile website automobile-magazine.fr managed to get hold of these images of the upcoming A-class set to be released in 2012. And from the looks of it, its not a far cry from the radical concept that was shown to the world at both the Shanghai and New York Auto Shows.

While the concept had a more sleek 3 door coupe stance, the production model obviously moved toward the practical approach with a 5 door version which suggests that both variants will be offered in the A-Class lineup. The front grille has been toned down from the rather fluid looking swoops to a more chiseled front end and the rear looks more like a mash up between the BMW 1 series and the Audi A3 compared to the rather stunning concept's rear end.

One thing Mercedes didn't change from the concept was its engine. The 2.0 litre turbocharged direct injection engine which churns out 204bhp with a dual clutch gearbox. Of course this will be the 'hot' version while the others in the range will get their engines from the current C-Class models. However, the AMG division has also had their share of tinkering and have planned to produce a four wheel drive variant with 3 doors that will have 350bhp! No doubt the Germans are at civil war when it comes to their hot hatches..

Looks so meh compared to the concept. This one looks like someone decided to take the Golf GTI, slap the 3-pointed star on it and tada!! new model!!

I like small cars like this A-class and this kind of small cars provides more comfort to drive. I like the front look, side door pattern but there is no more creation in back look, it looks simple and similar like VW Palio car. I think it require some little bite changes in design concept.

The current A class is FWD. It would be cool if they make this RWD and have an option for 4 matic. They should also swap the front grille for the one they have on the new SLK... Sweet..

  • Christmas colours: What do they actually mean?

The members of the Sgcarmart media team recently put its heads together to prepare something special and festive for our readers and viewers - which you can both read about and watch on Instagram - and as we were sitting down to plan things out, we were faced at one point with a deceptively simple question: What are the different meanings behind the colours we associate with Christmas?  In my very non-expert eyes, three distinct colours stand out: Red, green and white primarily,

ERP 2.0: Possible positions for your processing unit

Your OBU's processing unit isn't always mounted on the passenger footwell. Depending on the car that you drive, more than one option may be available! Since November 2023, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has been gradually replacing in-vehicle units (IUs) with the new on-board units (OBU). The OBU will pave the way for smoother traffic as we transition to the new ERP 2.0 system that is based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology.  The OBU comprises three parts: An

Japan is weird. I love it (Part 4)

I recently finished watching Shōgun (yes, I'm a little bit late to the party). Released earlier this year, Shōgun has become an utter revelation - going on to win 18 Emmys at this year's Primetime and Creative Arts Emmys, making it the most awarded single season of television in history. It's also the first non-English-language series to win Outstanding Drama Series.  And it truly is outstanding, fully deserving of all the awards that it has garnered.  As you would expect, the show rev
