It looks like the next Bugatti Veyron is still a go for the VW Group. And word from Auto Express is that the next Veyron model will top out 434.52 km/h , the record top speed set by the current Veyron Super Sport.

Design-wise, the next Veyron will take some inspiration from the original Veyron concept by Walter de Silva, now head of design at VW Group. That design was never revealed to the public. The car pictured here is a design study by Canadian John Mark Vicente called the Bugatti Renaissance, posited as a Veyron successor.

Powering the next Veyron will still be the 8.0 liter W16 engine laden with four turbochargers, coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Output will also likely be similar to the current Super Sport - 1,200 bhp and 1,500 Nm of torque. The new Veyron will have a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of around 2.5 seconds and slightly inch past the Super Sport's performance numbers by means of weight-saving measures.

Bugatti will be summoning the help of sister brand Lamborghini to keep the Veyron's weight to around 1,838 kg. It will use carbon-composite materials for its monocoque chassis and much of its cabin trim. The next Veyron will also come with thinner glass and lighter alloy wheels to reduce overall weight by about 100 kg over its predecessor.

The new Veyron will debut sometime in 2013 and will go on sale the following year with an expected price over

  • A 20-year journey, an old passion rekindled

For us 90s babies, the Holy Trinity of Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network formed a big part of our childhood. The internet was just about coming into fruition, with the rise of a plethora of websites with numerous entertaining flash games and of course, the early days of YouTube. And though those things have come and gone, one thing in my life remained constant: My love for Pokemon. I first got into Pokemon 20 years ago, and I remember exactly how it went down. Let me set the

Journey to the West: First Steps in Southwestern China, Pt. 1

It used to be that when a person was visiting China for the first time, the natural choice was Beijing. No better way to learn about a country than a visit to its capital, amirite? Having had their fill of Peking duck and climbed the Great Wall of China, the next places they would likely look at are those on the east coast - Shanghai, Nanjing, perhaps Harbin. In recent times though, the southwestern parts of China have gotten much coverage on social media. Chongqing, the country’s largest c

    Ready? Steady? Slow!

Have you ever watched on of those baby crawling races? They are hilarious. I watch a lot of NBA, and sometimes they have these races as a halftime entertainment. And its hilarious because unlike most athletic races, there's an inherent unpredictability and chaos to these things. They get distracted, they get bored, they get tired. Babies doing baby things, you know.  Well, England thinks it can one-up the absurdity of racing: Introducing to you, Snail Racing.  It seems almost

The fun in collecting postcards without (really ever) sending them

I believe I may not be alone when I say that I’m quite the avid collector of postcards, but rarely ever send them out to family or friends. To some, this might seem counterintuitive, even wasteful. But for me, these miniature works of art serve a different purpose. They're windows into distant lands; time capsules of bygone eras; and conversation starters par excellence. In fact, in a city as fast-paced as Singapore, where our lives often revolve around our vehicles and the next destination
