Ferrari plans to halt factory production and cut jobs as a result of reduced engine orders from its sister company, Maserati. Maserati received about 4,500 engines from Ferrari in 2009, a far cry from the 9,000 delivered in 2008.
It is reported that factory workers staged a four-hour walk-out because Ferrari plans on eliminating 120 office positions and 150 factory jobs in exchange for the last payment of year 2009 bonus, which was due this past April. A total of around 3,000 people are on
Its hard to change the way a car performs and looks when its already incredible. But from these new images, it looks like the new Golf MkVII is going to be even better than ever before.
The Golf has always been one of those legendary cars which sustain the test of time, and throughout the years, Volkswagen's factory has been churning them out day after day, its surprising they haven't run out of ideas for a car which has been around for such a long time. And if the new model is going to loo
Anyone that has ever done their own oil changes is familiar with the pain of trying to access and remove the filter on their engine. If you do manage to get it loose, there is the inevitable mess of oil dripping down your arm as you spin the filter off, and not forgetting that constant exposure to used engine oil can cause skin cancer.
When the new Chevrolet Cruze goes on sale later this year in the US, the engines for the first time will feature a cartridge type filter that can be removed
Icy-cold yet disturbingly sexy actress Uma Thurman and William Shakespeare's verses "We are such stuff as dreams are made on" are the key highlights of Alfa Romeo's advertising campaign for the new Giulietta hatchback that will kick off with a TV commercial in Italy on 16 May.
Created by Leo Burnett, the international campaign on TV, press, posters, radio and web will run across all the main countries in Europe. It is said to play on the parallelism between the star of movies such as Pulp F

Get ready to scream your heart out. This is the most powerful and fastest accelerating Ferrari ever produced - the Formula Rossa roller coaster. And the good thing is you don
The all-new A8 and updated Q7 won't be the only vehicles in Audi's line-up to benefit from the automaker's new eight-speed gearbox. The octo-cog-swapper is set to proliferate throughout the Audi line-up in the coming year.
For the 2011 model year, the A4 2.0 TFSI quattro sedan and Avant will come packing with the eight-speed tranny, along with the A5 2.0 TFSI quattro coupe and cabriolet (the manual six-speed will only be available on the coupe). In addition, the revised Q7, with its new hi
Whenever Porsche comes out with a 911 that is designated a 'GT2' almost everyone gets nervous. The GT2 moniker is usually reserved for a high performance version of the 911 Turbo. It is lighter than the Turbo version as Porsche threw away the all wheel drive system and made it rear wheel drive. The 996 version of the GT2 became known as a 'widowmaker' as it channeled more than 500bhp from its rear mounted engine only to the rear tires. The recipe of the engine at the wrong place and too much pow
Land Rover has finally broken their tradition of building 4X4 for the last 60 years, and come up with this; a Front Wheel Drive only Land Rover. Its currently called the 'Land Rover Compact' and by looking at its dimensions, you can understand where its name was derived. The Compact is still in its concept stage but it is very near production ready and this is probably Land Rover's best bet at infiltrating the un-Land Roverish land of Singapore...
People here would question, why would I need
When the latest BMW 5 series dropped its cover in recent months, everyone was raving about how it looks much better than the previous model, how its better equipped, more fuel efficient and the list goes on. However, that's just the beginning. Because this is what the new 3 series will probably look like, and I must say, it looks pretty good.
Underneath the bold, masculine lines along the side panels and that aggressive looking hood which kind of reminds me of the previous 5 series, lies a
The CEO of Ferrari Mr Amadeo Felisa had some interesting remarks during an interview with UK magazine Autocar at the recent 2010 Beijing Motor Show. One of this was on the need for Ferrari to produce eco-friendly cars as we've seen when Ferrari displayed the 599HY- KERS hybrid car at a recent motor show.
Of course, Ferrari purists may be fuming by this blasphemy, especially where a compromise must be made over the pursuit of power and handling over the environment. For most, a compromise to
This here is the Alfa Romeo Giulietta that will serve as this year's safety car at the SBK World Superbike Championship. It is based on the range-topping Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde that's motivated by a 1.75-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine pumping out 235 horsepower.
That's good enough to propel the standard production car from zero to 100km/h (62mph) in 6.8 seconds with a top speed of 242 km/h or 151 mph.
Alfa Romeo has not released any specific details on the safety car vers
A very rich museum has made the 1930s Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic the world's most expensive car ever sold. The Mullin Automotive Museum located in Oxnard, California must have some fantastic benefactors as they spent between US$30 and $40 million on a Type 57SC Atlantic at the Gooding Classic Car Auction on May 5th 2010 . The previous record was for a 1960s Ferrari GTO that a British buyer bought from Lee Kun-Hee, the former CEO and Chairman of Samsung Electronics.

Ferrari has no plans at all to produce a four-door model, according to a story published by Autocar. CEO Amedeo Felisa was quoted saying that his company will "never do four doors." Ferrari founder Enzo would apparently not approve of such a car anyway. It just isn't part of the company's long heritage.
Despite its staunch stance on the four-door issue, the supercar maker is gearing up for a hybrid powertrain launch in the near future. Felisa explained that hybrids are being produced to sat
Alfa Romeo appears to be on a celebration spree this year. Aside from the year-long festivities to commemorate the firm's 100th birthday, the Italian automaker is now celebrating the 60th anniversary of its historic 1-2-3 finish at the first ever F1 European Championship race, which was held at Silverstone motor racing circuit sixty years ago.
To celebrate, the company photographed one of the rare 158s, which competed in this historic race alongside the latest Alfa to bear the motorsport in
Last Sunday (9th May 2010) marked an event held for the 10th anniversary of a pretty famous Malaysian based website called Zerotohundred.com. Together with High Performance Challenge (HPC), they had organized a time attack shootout at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) dubbed Time To Attack: Sepang. The event was scheduled right after the HPC track day held in the morning and the turnout for both events were pretty great in light of the rain that was almost continuous since 11.45am till abou
Talk about a diehard BMW fan, we have got one here. When Joanne Marsh's husband Steve passed away at the age of 51, she wanted to honor him with a headstone he would be proud to rest under. Nicknamed "BMW Steve," it was only natural that Joanne and her two children should look for a BMW-inspired sculpture.
The family found a Chinese exporter who is willing to build a scale-model BMW M3 convertible, Steve's favorite, completely from granite. The model cost
With all the news reports regarding unintended acceleration in Toyotas in recent months, it was only a matter of time before an aftermarket company stepped up with a purported solution. Santa Barbara-based Solutions Group Inc. is now marketing a device called the Decelerator, which they claim provides a brake override to prevent the car from taking off on the driver.
According to the CEO of Solutions Group, Mr Sean O'Neil, the device is another box of electronics that can intercept and modi

This pic looks like a Hot Wheels toy advertisement. You know, the Ferrari was going so fast it caught on fire? =oP
Ferrari it seems have been hogging the limelight lately. Unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. Just a couple of months back, a Ferrari F430 decided to make a large tree its hood ornament after its owner took it for an early morning spin (literally) along Nicoll Highway. Now, another F430 has made the headlines. Barely two weeks back, a bright Giallo Modena Ferrari F430 Spider
It seems the three weeks break has done wonders for Red Bull as Mark Webber gets his first win of the 2010 season. He started from pole position and steamed ahead of his team mate Sebastian Vettel at the start of the Spanish F1 Grand Prix at the Catalunya Circuit in Barcelona. The race was basically pretty straightforward as there was no overtaking on the track whatsoever. Fernando Alonso of Ferrari was second (to the delight of Spanish fans as he's Spanish) and third was Sebastian Vettel.

The Aston Martin pictured above is the very limited edition One-77. This car has a front mid-mounted dry sumped 7.3liter V12 producing 700bhp and also 750Nm of torque. It has a Rear mid-mounted 6 speed Automated Manual Transmission with Auto Shift Manual/Select Shift Manual (ASM/SSM) electro-hydraulic control system. It has a carbon monocoque body structure and an aluminium body. It has carbon ceramic brakes and a race car style pushrod suspension system too. In short, this car is a f
Did you know that it basically took Audi 126.5 million years to finally agree with everyone alive that having a tall 4,6 or 8 cylinder engine set up high and way in front of the front axle does not do wonders to the handling of their front wheel drive sedans? Having driven the current A6, the previous generation A4 (B7 series) as well as the earlier ones too, I have to say that massive understeer is the preferred way for these front wheel drive Audis to corner.
On the B7 A4 I remember drivi
Nowadays is either Hybrids or Diesels and Volkswagen, our friendly neighborhood car manufacturer, has taken economy and green a small step further by launching the latest Polo Bluemotion TDI. The small step taken is the fact that it has chopped off one cylinder from the four cylinder diesel and it is only 1.2 liters in size. This was recently paraded recently at the 31st International Vienna Motor Symposium.
1.2liters, diesel, a turbo and three cylinders makes 74bhp and about 180Nm at 2,00
A Benz by a company called Binz. Ironic isn't it? Mercedes Benz has collaborated once again with coach builders Binz, the company from Lorch in Germany for their latest mid-sized limousine based on the new W212 E-Class sedan. Some of you may be unaware but Mercedes Benz always produced these 4 and 6 door mid-sized limousines since the W110 "fintail" series of the late 1960s, mostly with Binz. These long wheelbase E-Classes were produced mainly with 6 doors and 3 rows of seats, mainly for chauff
