More details on the 2011MY Nissan GT-R and the luxury spec GT-R EGOIST

Nissan has released official specs and pictures of the 2011MY (Model Year) GT-R. What's different from the previous models are some exterior tweaks to make the car a little more aerodynamic, some interior appointments (a redesigned instrument panel and seats) and what most are expecting; a power upgrade. The GT-R officially crosses the 500bhp barrier to produce 530bhp and 612Nm of torque or 630Nm in the Spec V.   It also sips less fuel too, 8.5km/l and is also considered a Light Emissions Vehi

Why can't we have kit cars!

Parked along side the St. Regis, or Hilton Hotel, there's always something that catches the eyes. Whether its a Rolls Royce or a Ferrari, pedestrians can't help it but stop and stare. Well those are the authentic cars, but since the rest of the world allows its people to build their own kit cars, I can't see why not here on this island with too many Toyotas, Hondas, Hyundais, Kias and Nissans.   The car in the photo above is a Honda Attack, and its a kit car with the chassis from a Civic or an

The easiest driving test in the world

In Singapore, we all know how to go about getting our driving license. Go to a driving school, get your BTT done, get the PDL, do your FTT and after a certain number of lessons, do the final test. And within that final test, we have the circuit and bla bla bla. All that sounds good and sophisticated with so many different hurdles to cross before getting the actual license. With all that you'd actually think that Singaporean drivers are very good. Well not so.. But anyhow, this is how a driving t

Which is faster: An Ariel Atom or a Printer?

This seems to be a rather good idea, racing a printer with a car, and not just any car. The Epson is up against an Ariel Atom.   The main premise of the advertisement is to prove that the Epson printer can print out the entire racetrack, Rockingham Motor Speedway in the UK to be exact, faster than a driver can drive an Atom around it. For those who still do not know what an Ariel Atom is, I suggest Google-ing it before watching this video. Its possibly the most extreme face distorting machine

Singapore = Motoring Hell?

I can't help but think that if there was such a thing as a world ranking for the motoring enthusiast's version of hell on earth, Singapore would pretty much be amongst the top few contenders. In fact, I think our sunny island stands a good chance of coming in first.   Let's start with the cost of ownership. With hefty import taxes and COE necessary evils to control our vehicle population, we find that most motoring enthusiasts are priced out of the cars that they truly desire. In fact, most w

GM defend the Volt

General Motors is in a dispute with critics regarding its upcoming Chevy Volt, which the automaker touts as an all-electric car but critics call it a plug-in hybrid.   Critics from publications such as Edmunds.com, Popular Mechanics, and Motor Trend magazine contend that the onboard gasoline engine kicks in on the Volt during a hard acceleration, and that makes it a hybrid. GM calls the Volt an "extended range electric vehicle." The Volt features a gasoline engine which acts as a generator for

What used to be boring, 'plasticky' and just plain old fashioned has now become simple, modern and relevant to our day and age. Ford has finally woken up and decided that their dashboards needed a makeover and they chose the most practical thing in our lives to model after; a mobile phone.   As we all know, mobile phones are designed with the user in mind, making it as user friendly as possible.
