Audi A3 Sedan/Sportsback Owners - Check In

Interestingly forums also reported my car (328) being 0.4 seconds faster than whats on paper, but I am assuming the car was launched with optimal settings. (Launch control, dry tarmac etc)

Or audi just tweak the numbers on paper for marketing purpose. I guess having to sell the same 1.4T engine in 2 output configurations (125 and 150 PS) somewhat blurred the distinction from the technical aspects.

Can I check with owners here how many months have passed from the car manufactured date (in logcard) to the date when you collected your ride.

Mine was about 4 months.

Audi A3 range from $133,999 ?

Between this or the Mazda 3 2.0 litre.

Depreciation wise after taking into account road tax, less than 1 grand a year.

The Mazda comes with all the bells and whistles equipment wise. Less fuel efficient but reliability and maintenance should be a notch up.

The A3. Badge is the top draw. Seems the Audi has a few niggling issues.

Drive wise, the 2 litre Mazda is actually better.

Leaning more towards the Mazda.

People looking for a quieter more refined ride would be more likely to pick the Audi A3... and frankly I think the A3 has much more interior comfort in and sense of spaciousness.

Got the Mazda 2 litre oredi. Difference about 20k and comes with all the equipment plus sports kit. The gap too big to justify going for the badge.

So you got your Mazda 3 2.0L sports /deluxe for about 114k?

Gratz. It is up to each buyer to pick their priorities... I myself think the A3 is ridiculously overpriced... family nearly went with it though

Yap.

At 114k, I most probably also may pick the mzd. When I bought my A3 the price difference was much closer. The mzd 1.5 deluxe (not the 2L) was only around 15k difference.

Just curious how you got your mzd 2l so cheap at 114k? Saw sgcarmart listed it is at 127k.

If mzd 2L is at 127k I would definitely take the A3.

If you look at its closest competitors merc cla180 or the bmw 318i which are 20 to 30k more, then the A3 is quite under priced.

Wouldn't a 1 series or a class be more comparable since all are hatchback class? 3 series or CLA would be more comparable to the A4 Sedan class.

I think in Singapore context, hatch is considered like a separate segment. If you want a sedan the cla180 and the 318 would be the closest to the A3 sedan (if you are considering only the 3 German luxury Marque)

I think in a lot of comparison people are looking at the A3 sedan as competitor to the cla. I think bmw doesn't have a car in this segment at the moment.

A3's logical competitor would be CLA180 for the sedan while the A180 competes with A3 sportback. Versus Mercedes, Audi is a value proposition, but versus rest of market? Naaah.... the Volkswagen Golf is so much better equipped for lower price despite sharing many things... but of course Audi got more premium feel.

The golf price today is good value proposition. It wasn't this before. The golf price now (like the altis and mazda 3) has gone south whereas the A3 price has only moved within a narrow band.

When I got my A3, I also seriously looked at the golf. The high trim 1.4 golf price at that time was pretty close (-7k) to the basic A3. The golf has addition of navigation, bigger rim and sunroof over the A3.

It was listed at 120,888 before the latest Coe increase.

Add on all the discounts etc etc at the car expo ...... You will get there or a few grand more, depending on whether you want immediate stock. Demo car etc.

Dun forget when you bought your car earlier in the year the difference between Cat A & B was at least 15k. Now they are about the same. The 2 litre was selling about 136,000 early part of the year.

I didn't believe my SE at that time I bought when he kept repeating the A3 price has never been so close to bnb Jap/Kor cars. The gap has widen up a bit now.

Anyway congrats on your new car. I think it is definitely a great buy.
