Have to agree on the build quality but its a beauty! 2.3 liter selling at 280k. Almost place 5k deposit to test drive it... Seriously drooling over it.

Obviously you like what you saw. How much does the name "Mustang" and its heritage affect your decision to test or even buy it eventually? Just curious. :-)

Wait till you tell them the price is not to own the car, but to lease it for 10 years only.

Rubbing salt into wounds..... :-(

i think Ford is targetting that category of german overpriced coupes. it offers a refreshing alternative to the usual bavarian stable.

But yeah if its $280k they may have priced themselves out of the competition. The Mustang is not a refined "upmarket" coupe. Its a muscle car favoured by petrolheads and rednecks. I think of it as a yankee version of the WRX or Evo.

And the $280k price range is defintely outside of redneck ah beng territory.

The Mustang wont be known for its refinements and grace for the above reasons but even at this price range i think there will still be afew die hards who will fork out the cash to own one because of initial novelty, which will wear out over time.

The other thing is that Yankee muscle cars are mainly built for raw power to go in a straight line. Thats what the open country roads are like, and well, you can take the car out of the country but not the country out of the car. I really have my doubts about how well the Mustang will adapt to our traffic congested roads where cars spend more time idling than actually moving.

280k for a Ford, even a Mustang, right smack into BMW 428i (also means Mercedes/Audi) territory and even higher than 328i is gone case pricing.
I understand they prob. want to give it a more "atas" brand image but sales will flop. Good luck to them for this price.

The funny thing is the sales lady said 'many' people have booked the car.

In my mind, I said 'Ooooook'.

I wonder what's her definition of 'many'.

True. But unfortunately, they are removing one of the advantages that they might have had over the premium Germans, price. So now all they have going for it is basically "romance".

Initially sure got people book for the novelty factor one la. Maybe they are not counting on it being a sales success but a "hero" car to boost sales of their cars lower down the ladder. Only Ford will know.

Like even before I see, purposely go down to see it.

Always have a liking for this particular model, but buy or not seriously depends on the price. 280k for now is too much money to throw on something that I might not keep for even more than 5 years...

Not much flesh in this motor show, the only flesh are located at the Peugeot RCZ.

On the whole, the show is quite boring, the most boring display are Toyota follow by Honda.
